For sophie_dallas

"Sophie, what's wrong?" your brother, Two-Bit, asked.

You absently shook your head and replied with "Nothing. I'm fine." That had been your go-to answer all week.

You were kind of stressing and upset at the moment because one of your best friends, Curly, was in jail and wouldn't be coming out for another month or so, and your boyfriend, Ponyboy, was preoccupied with track and writing and everything else but you. Then, your mom had been extremely difficult the past couple of days. She just wouldn't listen to you, and all you needed was for her to listen. To top it off, Two kept bothering you about what was wrong.

"I gotta go," you said.

"I'll see you later," Two replied, smiling at you. He obviously was waiting for one in return, but you just weren't in the mood.

You aimlessly walked around town. You weren't sure where you were going, but you just needed to be out. Then all of those pent up emotions inside of you started to push thoughts into your head. This happened sometimes, but you usually reminded yourself that everyone got stressed out sometimes. It would blow over soon enough, you'd try to tell yourself, but it wasn't enough this time.

You searched for the nearest pay phone and reached in your pocket for some change. You inserted the money and dialed the number to Pony's house.

It rang a couple of times. All you needed was to talk to him. You needed him to talk you down. It was still ringing. You were desperate now. You slammed the phone down and stumbled out.

You numbly began walking again, thoughts swimming- no, not swimming; something much more violent- throughout your mind.

Just leave!

Stop trying. It'll never get better.

You need to give up on them. No one appreciates you anymore.

And those were just a few thoughts screaming at you. You caved. You couldn't handle it anymore. You started running.

You ran as far as you could, not sure of where you were going because of the blurring tears that sprang to your eyes, that were now whipped across the sides of your face. When you stopped, you found yourself standing on train tracks.

You realized you hadn't gone far, but you were still far enough away from town that no one would find you. You looked left to right and decided to follow the tracks away from town.

*Ponyboy's POV*

I walked into the house and went straight to the bathroom. I had been at track all afternoon, so I needed a shower something bad. As soon as I started washing my hair, I thought I heard the phone ringing. I just shrugged it off. If it was that important, they'd call back.

When I was done taking a shower, I saw Soda, Steve, and Dally in the living room.

"Hey, Pony, you seen Sophie?" Dally asked. "Two's looking for her. I told him I hadn't seen her all day."

I shrugged and shook my head. "I didn't see her today. Then again, I haven't seen her much lately anyway."

"Two said she went out this morning, and he hasn't seen her the rest of the day," Dally continued.

"Maybe she just went to a friend's house," Soda chime in.

Steve nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Two just worries too much."

I distractedly nodded. For some reason, I couldn't shake the feeling that maybe she was actually in trouble or ran way or something bad had happened.

"Hey, uh, I'm gonna go take a walk," I decided. I wen outside and began walking towards town.

I knew Sophie was having problems lately. I felt bad that I hadn't really made time to help her out, but I couldn't worry about that now. I needed to did her, make sure she's okay.

I ran around to random places, hoping for a glimpse of Sophie's face. I checked in on a friend of hers, but she said she hadn't seen Sophie either. I searched the entire town until it was dark, and I was somewhere by the train tracks.

An idea struck me. Sophie would want to get as far away as possible when she's upset. I started running along the side of the tracks, leading away from town.

I ran and ran until I was so out of breath and tired, I could barely stay on my feet. I continued to walk. I saw a small train station platform ahead. I could see someone was over there, but it was really dark, and all I saw was movement.

When I got to the platform, I walked up onto it. "Uh, hi," I managed to sputter out.

The person was sitting with their knees against their chest and their face down on their knees. It was a girl. She looked up. "Ponyboy?"

It was Sophie.

Hey! I really hope you like it! Apparently I'm really into cliffhangers now. I really need to hurry through these requests. But I hope this long one makes up for my late timing. 😊😔

Anyway, just a reminder that I'm not taking new request at the moment, and I'll let y'all know when I will again. Love you guys! M'kay.
