Chapter 9: Moving In & Explanation Time

Cal's POV:

This was it. I was finally getting my chance to explain everything. Hopefully fate goes my way this time because I'm not getting into anymore peer pressure. It's time to face my problems and fix them. Ya know, be grown up and stuff. It's time for me to tell Kaylie what I should have told her a long time ago.

I wanted a lot of things 2 years ago: money, girls, a bachelor pad, hot tub. Typical rich boy stuff, but money can't buy love. I learned that through my parents. My mother was such a gold-digger, but my father thought it was just a woman doing woman things. They spend money, take care of the children, clean the clothes, wash the dishes. For me, it definitely wasn't like that. I learned to do things on my own while my parents had their problems. I didn't wanna have the same thing with Kaylie, but she wasn't like any other girl I've ever met before. Like the saying, "She's different." You know what I mean?

Kaylie and I got off the plane a few minutes later and quickly grabbed our stuff so we can go to a StarBucks nearby. It was always nice to be with her and seeing her beautiful smile. Seeing how her eyes light up even when it's almost dark. I'd always loved her laugh as well. Life is just greater with a person like Kaylie.

During the 2 years we were broken up, I've learned to get a grip of my attitude. The scholarships I was offered weren't what I was looking for, neither were the girls or the parties. The only thing that was stopping me, more like the only person who was stopping me was Kaylie and how I was a such a fool for letting a girl like that be taken away from me just like that. My parents' marriage had taught me to be a gentlemen and how not to be a d*ck about everything. Like how it ended with Kaylie and the reason behind it.

"Calvin," She snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah? Sorry," I replied in chagrin.

"Are you okay? You seem off." She tried to mimicked what I'd said earlier on the plane. Adorable.

"Yeah, just thinking."

"Oh, what about?" Everything, Kayles.

"Nothing."

She rolled her eyes but replied, "Okay, well I kind of don't know where I'm staying so..."

"So...?"

"You're not serious right?" She narrowed her eyes. I totally knew what she was trying to talk about. I just love messing around with her.

"Yes, Kaylie, I'm super serious." I bit my bottom lip and bit down a chuckle. She'd watch my lip bite and averted her eyes elsewhere. Oh Kaylie, you are too cute.

"Cal." She whined and pouted. What this girl does to me.

"Okay Kayles, I know what you're talking about. Now put that bottom lip away before I bite it." She quickly complied and her cheeks turned a crimson shade.

"Mister Austin, are you trying to flirt with me on our first night in Boston?" She smirked. Damn, this girl.

"I don't know, if it's working then maybe so, but it also looks like you're flirting back."

She let out a chuckle. "Well, I'd still like to know if I have a place to stay for a while."

"Yes, now come on. We're gonna get locked in here if we stay any longer."

"Okay, let's go." She laughs and takes her stuff with her while I take mine and hail a taxi for us.

She was surprised at how close my place was to the school. That's one thing she knew about me: I was full of surprises. When we got to my place, I couldn't help but smile when she walked inside with me. Maybe it was an old feeling coming back, but it was good. The feeling of warmth. That's what she makes me feel when I'm around her. She made me feel like a lot of things that I can't even describe.
