Kaylie's POV

They say that you have to live life one day at a time. But sometimes you have to live with it every hour.

But when it comes to love, you live every second of it.

Kayles,

6 months of trial and error,
and still lovin' it.

Dress fancy tonight.

-C

I smiled to myself with I saw the roses on my dresser. Guess who's going on a date tonight?

That's right, I am.

I picked out the dress that didn't look too over the top for tonight.

I didn't know exactly where Cal was gonna take me, or what we were even doing, but I do hope that I dressed right for the occasion.

It read 7:30 PM on the alarm clock when I'd finally finished up with my makeup and looked at myself for maybe the 20th time.

A few knocks on the door made me look up from what I was doing.

"Come in!" I said.

That's when Cal came in looking all model like.

Gosh, what did I do to deserve this beautiful human being in my life?

A smile made its way to both of our faces when we saw the sight of each other.

"You look amazing as always," he stated as leaned on the door.

I blushed. "Kissing ass as always, Cal?" I answered. We always talked like this.

"Well, you're not wrong on that." I laughed at his statement. "You ready?"

"Ready ready." And with that he took my hand and led me to his car.

On the way there, we stole glances from each other like those cute things other couples do when they're first together and such. This is so cheesy and cliche. I love it.

We got to my favorite restaurant in Boston, Lineage Restaurant. Cal knows I LOVE their food, especially the Smoked Salmon Toast and Island Creek Oysters.

"I know it's not the greatest-" Cal started, but I interrupted him.

"I wouldn't have asked for anything else," I smiled.

He gave me a genuine smile back. "One more thing." He took a small box out of his pocket. "I know you've been keeping your eyes on this for a while."

No way, it couldn't be.

"Happy six months, babe." Cal smiled at my reaction as he opened the box the reveal the necklace that I've been trying to save up for.

"Cal..." was all that came out of my mouth.

"This next one is for the couple in the middle," the singer on stage announced and played my favorite song, "Over and Over Again" by Nathan Sykes.

The song started playing when Cal stood and clasped the necklace around my neck. He went back in front of me and stuck his hand out. "May I have this dance, Kay?"

I laughed at the gesture and nodded in response.

He pulled me close and I rested my head on his chest. I could see the smile forming on his face.

"This couldn't have gotten any cheesier," He laughed. "But it was totally worth spending tonight with you."

"You're always cheesy," I sent him a grin.

"You love it, though."

"Like I said," my eyes met his, "I couldn't have asked for anything else."

And that, my friends, is how you win over a girl's heart.
