Chapter 3: New Beginnings & Long Explanations

 Previously:

The guy stopped a few feet away from me. My eyes grew wide as I observed the person in front of me.

No way.

"Kaylie, it really is you!" he said and hugged me tight.

"Kris," I breathed out and hugged back with the same urgency. "You're back. You're really back."

"I'm back, Kaylie, and I'm back for good."

                                                                        ************

Kris is back.... He's really back, and back for good!

Words cannot express how I feel right now. I mean, I'm happy that Kris is back for good, but my emotions are all over the place. For one, he could leave at anytime and not come back ever again. He wouldn't do that though. I know Kris better than he knows himself, and vice versa. When he leaves something or someone behind, he always comes back.

"Kaylie, I-" He stopped. "Why are you crying?"

"I... I don't know what to feel, Kris. I just visited Dad to catch up on what's been happening, then you showed up out of no where. And.." I trailed off, sniffing and wiping my tears. "I'm overwhelmed with everything... Wait, does Mom know?"

"I saw her when I was on the way here.. But I never got the chance to talk to her. I didn't want her to see me yet." He looked away as if his tears were on the brink of coming out.

"I knew you would come back, ya know?" I said, breaking the brief silence between."You know that sibling instinct I have."

He smiled and said, "We should get home, I want you and Mom to meet someone."

I gave him a confused looked, but I went with it. Mom is gonna totally freak out when she sees that Kris has come back for good this time. Well, there may be some tears to shed but-

"I knew I saw you when I was in the car," Mom's voice came out raspy. Kris turned around and they were both on the brink of tears.

"Mom?" Kris' voice cracked, tears starting to stream down his face.

Kris ran up to Mom and picked her up while hugging her. He looks like he worked on his body when he was away. He was always the strongest besides our Dad, but Dad was bulkier. You could say Kris and Dad were my best friends, besides my Mom, of course.

"I'm still here, you know?" I said, feeling left out.

They both chuckled and Kris said, "Come here, Baby Sis."

I smiled, went over and hugged them. After that, Mom and I got in her car while Kris got in his car, and we all went home.

It felt so good to have Kris back, but I knew when the moment we got home there would be a whole lot of questions shot at him, most of those questions asked by me.The moment we all got inside the house the whole mood changed. Time for the interrigation to begin.

"Kristoph Joel Casilla, do you know how worried I was?!" Mom immediately questioned, after we all got settled on  the couch with Hot Cocoa.

"Mom," Kris started. "I know what you're thinking. I didn't run away just because of what happened 3 years ago."

"Then what am I thinking? You were seventeen-years-old at the time. What were Kaylie and I supposed to worry about besides you?"

"Mom, I-" I was trying to put my 2 cents in, but I was interrupted by Kris.
