Kaylie
It was a week after my birthday and I loved every minute having my family and Cal around in one place.
Though things seemed a little sketch when my family started to act weird along with Cal following after. I thought nothing of it at the time, but it started to carry over to the next week and I was having none of this nonsense.
"Mom, what's going on?" I asked as I grabbed some chips from the pantry.
"What are you talking about?" Mom seemed to pull up a façade pretty quick.
I leaned over the counter. "What's everyone hiding from me? I know something's going on."
My mother just smirked. "KC, you know I don't share secrets."
"But Mom!" I whined. "Everyone's acting so weird, it's making me uncomfortable."
She was about to say something when Cal decided to walk in and interrupt the conversation.
"Hello, ladies." He greets with a smile, leaning beside me.
"My mouth is sealed, Honey." Mom gestures, walking away from us with a smirk etched on her face.
"I'm guessing this secret has something to do with you," I stated, starting to eat the chips I grabbed.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, Babe." A playful smile showed on Cal's face.
I frowned. "Cal."
"Kaylie."
"Please tell me what everyone's keeping from me."
"If I tell you, it wouldn't be a secret anymore." Cal kept on smiling.
I pouted. "Calvin."
He smirked this time. "Keep saying my name like that and maybe just maybe you'll get what you want."
I knew he was joking. He never caves in and tells.
Cal wrapped his arms around my waist while I cleaned my hands off of and chip crumbs. I turned around in his arms and he settled his forehead against mine, making my eyes look up at his.
He smirked again. "You know I'm not gonna cave in."
My shoulders sank a little. "Not even a tiny hint?"
Cal shook his head. "Nope, you can wait until tomorrow, my dear."
I rolled my eyes. "I have class tomorrow, Cal."
He let out a husky chuckle. "After your class, Kayles. You'll see."
"Kiss me." I titled my head upwards.
"Don't mind if I do." He placed a satisfying kiss on my lips and let go of my body.
I started to walk away, but was stopped by him calling me again. "Oh, one thing, Kayles?" My boyfriend asked.
"What is it?" I stopped myself mid step.
"Can you get some ice cream on your way home tomorrow? I think one of your brothers finished the last tub."
I rolled my eyes, making him laugh. "I hate you guys," I joked as I walked up to our room and let sleep take over.
