The One Reborn
—————

A screech followed a flying figure, as a Fiend was launched from the building the Kansen group were currently in. Littorio led the charge out, her sword meeting another Fiend that jumped at her and was run clean through mouth to back.

Houston stepped up alongside her, shots firing from her and Lexington at any Fiends that tried attacking the two front liners in Littorio and Sakawa. Libeccio had little to do and really was acting as a free pair of eyes, not wanting to fire her guns and destroy standing property if unneeded.

"We're getting backup, we have to head to the western end of town, near the hills!" Lexington shouted over the screeching of the Fiends, as more of them piled in from over buildings and through the alleys towards them.

Some were galloping on all fours where others were running on two, some were leaping from building to building and others through the streets and over various other objects. Lexington and the others were more than worried at the sheer numbers of Fiends coming their way, easily counting over one hundred of them.

Libeccio looked up to Lexington, fear in her eyes as Lexington nodded to her and let her do as she needed. The Destroyer quickly stepped up and aimed her weapons, firing into the crowd of monsters and clearing some of their numbers out, but nowhere near enough.

"Everyone get running!" Littorio led the charge, her rigging folding close as she used it to physically bash the Fiends aside while slashing at the few that still stood in her way.

Sakawa took to her flank and did the same, her Ōdachi easily cleaving through several of the Fiends that dared stand in her way. Houston and Lexington ran behind the two with Libeccio, their guns aiming at the group behind them and taking out any that dared get too close.

Libeccio reserved her shots for the densest groups that stood in their way, awaiting the signal from Littorio to fire whenever such groups stop them. One such was ahead, all standing together with claws raised to become a living wall against them.

"Fire now Libeccio!" Littorio and Sakawa stepped aside and let the shells fly past them, slamming into the group and making a hole in their formation that was swiftly being reclosed.

Littorio and Sakawa prevented that and slashed apart several more of the Fiends, keeping their pace constant as they turned down a new street to continue onwards. The gunfire was constant and yet still barely audible over the overwhelming screaming from the seemingly endless Fiends that continued to pour out of every nook and cranny.

"How many of these things are there?!" Houston continued firing shot after shot, her expression annoyed and frustrated. "Every time I drop one another is right there to replace it!"

"What matters is we get out of here, so keep firing!" Lexington's higher power cut through several per shot, and even then the wave of these things behind them was still not thinning.

Back in the front, Littorio and Sakawa saw a gathering of the Fiends ahead, which were dragging cars, benches, and other objects to plant in their path and serve as obstacles to slow them down. The Italian battleship grit her teeth at the annoying display of intelligence, as her main guns rolled ahead.

"Lexington, as much as you want to avoid collateral, this is life or death!" She didn't wait for a response and fired her guns, the cannons roaring as her heavy shells slammed into the line.

Several cars completely combusted, sending fireballs up into the sky and taking with them several of the Fiends that stood to close to the resulting inferno. Littorio took stock of the flames and lowered her rigging again, bashing one of the burning wrecks out of the way so they could continue unimpeded.
