The Upstate University loomed before them, a realm of higher education that would become their new sanctuary. Debbie dropped YN, Mark, and Kakarot off, laden with bags and the weight of impending farewells. The boys, armed with the excitement of newfound independence, exchanged heartfelt goodbyes with Debbie, who, in turn, offered maternal wisdom.
"Remember, no drugs, and always be safe," Debbie emphasized, her gaze shifting between the trio. YN, ever the provocateur, couldn't resist a quip. "Would that even work on us?" he mused about the drugs, earning a stern look from Debbie.
"Don't you dare try and find out," she warned, to which YN replied with a mischievous grin, "Gotcha."
Navigating the halls of the university, the trio settled into their respective rooms. Mark shared his space with William, while Kakarot and YN found themselves roommates.
Gathered in Mark and William's dorm room, the atmosphere shifted as William discreetly signaled a need for privacy. A sock hung on the doorknob, an unspoken agreement that drew amused glances from the others.
Observing a box of action figures and toys, YN directed his inquiry at Mark. "You gonna keep those or what?" he asked, prompting Mark to contemplate the relics of his past.
"I don't really know," Mark admitted, his gaze lingering on the box. William, adopting the voice of reason, chimed in, "Dude, come on, you have to let them go. We're in college now."
Kakarot, ever the advocate for personal expression, added his perspective. "Yeah, it is a little childish. But maybe you can be like one of those guys who has a collection of comic books, action figures, and books. I'm not judging."
Mark, caught between sentimentality and the expectations of adulthood, rolled his eyes at Kakarot's suggestion. "You say that, and at the same time, your voice is seeping sarcasm," Mark retorted, prompting Kakarot to abandon the act and burst into laughter.
The room resonated with the blend of nostalgia and the anticipation of newfound freedoms, a harmonious prelude to the uncharted chapter awaiting them in the corridors of higher learning.
The door to the dorm room swung open and they entered. Mark, however, stood at the precipice of a decision, a box cradled in his arms like a relic of a bygone era. His steps led him towards the dumpster, a symbolic farewell to the artifacts of childhood.
With a casual toss, Mark bid adieu to the box, watching it vanish into the shadows of the dumpster's embrace. But as the lid sealed the fate of his cherished items, a sudden pang of attachment gripped him. A few heartbeats later, the dumpster's metallic jaw opened again, yielding to Mark's reconsideration. From within, he retrieved the figure of Seance Dog, a silent testament to the enduring ties to his past.
Returning to the dorm, Mark rejoined the camaraderie, the cherished Seance Dog now a silent companion in his hands.
As conversation flowed, YN broached a topic that carried a weight of unresolved emotions. The specter of his Super Saiyan form, a power untapped since the day Omni-Man's betrayal scarred their lives.
A knock disrupted them, prompting Kakarot to answer the door. To his bewilderment, a proclamation echoed, "I have arrived for the Graysons! YN, Kakarot, and Mark!" In the doorway stood Seance Dog, an inanimate figure personified.
"Guys, you won't believe who's at the door," Kakarot exclaimed, his voice was one of awe and shock, summoning YN, Mark, and William to the entrance. William, overcome by a shock, retreated to his bed, while Mark, fueled by a mix of confusion and protectiveness, seized Seance Dog.
"Who are you?!" Mark demanded. A plea for explanation echoed from Seance Dog, met with skepticism and tension.
"Please, let me explain!" Seance Dog implored, but Mark's resolve propelled him to action. In an instant, he flew out of the window, Seance Dog in tow, and YN and Kakarot, not ones to let mysteries linger, soared after them into the unknown sky. The dorm room, now left in a state of suspense, echoed with the unspoken questions awaiting answers.
