Clarisse
That's it. I couldn't deal with it anymore. I wouldn't let Rachel get hurt, just like everyone else, ever.
Screaming, I threw my spear at full charge.
It hit the cyclops and it disintegrated into dust in an instant. Rachel fell to the floor but gave me a pained thumbs up. I rounded on the rest of the monsters.
I charged. A Cyclops went to grab me and I slid under its fist and jabbed upwards. As I was covered in a cloud of dust, I stood up and planted a roundhouse kick into the next Cyclops' side. It went flying back from the strength I was emitting. I felt drunk on power and I took advantage of it.
I defeated Cyclops after Cyclops, and I had lost track of time. Cuts and bruises littered my body but I ignored them. Finally, there was one left. With a smile, I took aim with my spear and...
"Stop!" Nico said.
"Huh?" I said in bewilderment, my adrenaline slowly wearing off.
Nico ignored me and walked up to the monster. He held his sword at its throat.
"Make a move and I'll send you back to Tartarus."
The cyclops nodded warily, eyeing his long sharp sword.
I gave Nico a funny look and he replied with one that said 'Just go with it.' I nodded and tried to look threatening. Which wasn't hard.
"Who are we facing?"
The cyclops shook its head.
"Tell us!" Nico said.
The cyclops shook its head again.
"Hey, I know you're not that bright, but I don't think you wanna go back down there, do ya? So help us out, and maybe we'll let you go," I piped in menacingly.
The cyclops looked between us, unsure. I pushed my spear up close to it's chin. It gulped.
"M-M- Med-"
And then it vanished. It literally looked like the air had rushed in and swallowed it, as there was nothing no longer there.
"Huh?" was all Will managed to say, a few meters behind me.
"Huh indeed," Rachel said in bewilderment. Then Nico snapped his fingers.
"Medea!" he gasped. When he said her name, the corridor began to shake. We exchanged glances, before Nico yelled "Run!"
No one needed to tell me twice.
We sped down the corridor, Will being practically dragged by a determined and stormy Nico. I'll give that kid credit, he can look pretty scary sometimes. And that's coming from me.
"I thought Pasiphaë controlled the labyrinth?" I managed to gasp.
"Apparently not anymore!" Rachel replied, still zipping up her backpack as we ran.
"You think its definitely Medea?" I shouted to Nico. He opened his mouth to reply when a swarm of monsters slid around the corner behind us. They began to chase us down the path, murder in their eyes.
"Yep. Definitely Medea. Now she wants to kill us!" I exclaimed, readying my spear while chasing the others.
"Sunshine and rainbows," Will muttered.
"Just like you!" Nico teased and Will shot him an exasperated look. "Not the time Nico!"
No one tripped this time, luckily.
* cough cough * Will Solace * cough *.
"We need to go this way!" Rachel cried, pointing to the right when we reached a fork in the path. We began to run through the arch when it slowly began to collapse on us.
The stones were slowly falling, about to crush Rachel.
"Rachel!" I shouted, as she was at the front. She yelped as I grabbed her bag and yanked her back. She fell on top of me and then I fell into Will who fell into Nico. We ended up in a pile with a hoard of monsters coming towards us.
