We entered the darkness of the Labyrinth.
_______________
We walked for a while, retracing our steps. We couldn't go through the arch, it had fully collapsed. We had a few run-ins with monsters, but it didn't take long for Clarisse and I to take them out.
"We're here. I know this is where the fleece is," Rachel said. We had arrived at a stone door. It was covered in vines and cracks with the mark of Daedalus right in the centre.
I frowned, "Is this...?"
"Daedalus' workshop? Yeah, I think so," Rachel replied.
"But I thought it collapsed?" Clarisse asked.
"Apparently not," Will said. He looked literally dead. He shouldn't of even been standing up, let alone walking around the labyrinth. I felt an unpleasant tugging in my gut, something which I knew told me his life was draining away. He's not dying. I won't let him, I thought furiously.
Rachel touched the mark of Daedalus lightly and the door swung open eerily.
___________
When we were inside, we saw plethoras of potions and medicines and poisons adorn the shelves. Things were steaming and boiling, popping and fizzing. Vines caked the walls and floors, and random monster parts littered the floor.
And then I saw it. The golden fleece was draped spectacularly over a wooden post, in the centre of the room. It was gold and sparkling and lit up the room.
"Too easy..." Clarisse muttered to me under her breath.
A laugh erupted next to us. I whipped around to see Medea.
Long, dark hair fell comfortably down past her shoulders and her skin was pale yet flawless. Her lips were carved into a smile and her eyes were dark, knowledgeable and brimming with power.
"Remember the plan guys," I murmured, mainly at Will. He nodded and started to fish something out of his pocket.
Medea flickered with magenta shadows and teleported herself in front of us, blocking our path to the fleece.
"How nice of you to have plans for me?" she said, raising an eyebrow, "I have some for you, too."
The vines on the ground began to sweep up and grab for us, but I was already cutting them with my sword.
"Drop your weapon," she hissed. Instantly, my sword clattered out of my hand and fell to the floor.
"Clarisse, attack them!" Medea said, heavy charmspeak laced in her words and Clarisse rounded on us, spear crackling.
"Now!" I heard Rachel shout to Will, and he answered.
When we had gone to get supplies, Chiron had informed us on the Iris message that she could Charmspeak. Yes, that meant we had to capture her, not kill. But we needed to deal with her Charmspeak when battling her. But I came up with the theory that she can't Charmspeak us if we can't hear her, right? So one of the few things we picked up - courtesy of Will - was a speaker.
Will hit play and Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana played on full volume.
"I'm a son of Apollo, idiot!" he shouted before pulling out his bow. I never thought that anyone had looked so cool in that moment.
