Thalia

"Thalia saves the day, once again!" I say, winking at Annabeth. I'd shot lightening at Hyperion, who had skidded back a few feet.

"Where the Styx have you been!? You're late!"

15 minutes earlier

I paced the deck, picking at my nails and giving the edge of the deck a wide berth. I hate being this high up. Every one of my instincts was telling me to just go down there and help, but then I'd have to deal with Annabeth.

I was arguing jokingly with Lillie (a daughter of Hades) about Gods knows what, when a lightening bolt struck the mast of the ship.

"Jason... Lillie get ready to shadow travel us down there," I said.

I found a box and stood on it, shouting for their attention.

"Hunters, ready your weapons and link arms - we are leaving-."

Suddenly, a knife was thrown from the crowd and it was aimed at my chest. I dodged it, but it pinned my jacket to the wall.

Ooh, Leo's not gonna like that dent.

"What the..?" I shouted. I went to pull at the knife, but it was buried deep.
"Who in Zeus' name threw that!?" I yelled.

Most of the hunters were just as confused as I was, but three stepped forwards, smiling. One pulled out more knives, and the other two armed their bows.

"What? What are you- Oh. Eidolons. So you knew we were here the whole time! How many of you are there!? Give us a break!" I shouted furiously.

"Prepare to see the end of the Hunters of Artemis, Thalia Grace."

I flinched. Grace.

"Don't use that name, and while you're at it, leave. Their. Bodies. Now."

"No, Grace."

"Knock them out! Quick!" I shouted to the hunters. They drew their weapons and ran at the eidolons but one spoke.

"Any of you take one more step, and we all shoot the daughter of Zeus."

The huntresses hesitated and looked at me for guidance. I panicked. What am I supposed to do!?
I wanted to zap them, but I didn't want to hurt my friends that they had possessed.

"Haha, we're shooting her anyway," one of them cackled and she released an arrow. It came at me in slow motion. My life flashed before my eyes. How could I die now? The Seven were in need of our help, and we weren't there, to help them save the world! And I was about to die.

I ripped my jacket by the force that I leapt out the way, but the damage was already done.

Not to me. To Lillie.

She had jumped in the way of the arrow. She had saved my life, too. I wouldn't have moved out of the way fast enough for the arrow to miss me, so she'd got in the way to save me.

"NOO!!" I screamed. The arrow protruded from her chest and blood... there was so much blood. I looked into her dark kind eyes for one last time, and the light was gone. She'd been alive for centuries, and she'd died just like that. Dead.
