And this was the moment Mabel had waited so much for. There was she, Pacifica Corduroy, the girl she had been wanting to see since she got out of the tower.
Oh, what a marvellous, thrilling moment this is. And the good part hasn't even started!
Pacifica stopped her tracks, her eyes stared onto Mabel's. "Cipher."
Mabel grinned, genuinely excited. "Llama!" she giggled. "Took you long enough!" she started to clap. "Bravo! Bravo! You've got through the training! Applause to her, everyone!" she spun as she clapped and spoke.
Echoes of applause followed Mabel's request. Pacifica whirled, startled, looking for wherever the sound could've come from. "Wh—Who else is here?"
"Nobody but us!" Mabel put her hands on her waist. "This is a private match between me and you, Llama." she said. "I can't have anybody interrupting us. But soon, Candy and Grenda will join to watch — which is, to me, just enough." she smirked in satisfaction. "So, before I actually put a tie on our game, do you have any questions? I'll be nice and give you a limit of five questions — and 'why?' or 'what do you mean?' won't even count. Aren't I just generous?"
Pacifica frowned a bit. "Why are you doing this?"
"I guess that kind of why will have to count." Mabel said. "The answer is simple, Llama: I can't be defeated; bad things happen when I'm defeated, and if I wait for another competition to beat you, I'll just put us on a tie! One win for you, one for me." she added. "So to not have to wait to turn the tables, I waited until I was free and created all of this for you!" she tilted her head. "Tell me: was it fun? Did you enjoy the thrill of 'time travelling' and adventuring like Odysseus?" she looked away, pensively. "Well, not exactly like Odysseus, but you know what I mean."
"I. . . Guess. . ." Pacifica replied. "It would be a lot nicer and enjoyable if I wasn't being attacked by your friends without any knowledge of what the heck is going on!"
Mabel waved a dismissive hand. "Yeah, yeah. You'd never agree to that, lassie." she rolled her eyes. "I had to surprise you — and of course, I couldn't let Gideon know about this."
"Did you do anything to him?"
"Another question! Great, two out five!" Mabel announced to the void. "No, I didn't do anything to him, I just. . . Distracted him with the help of a friend — no, that friend is not my brother nor Candy and Grenda. It's a different friend, I'm sure he'd love to meet you personally someday."
Pacifica was partially relieved that Gideon wasn't in danger, but still reluctant about that answer. She decided to move on: "Where exactly are we?"
Mabel looked around. "This," she spun as she spoke with her arms raised. "Is my perfect little canvas dimension!" she spun a second time as she showcased it. "In here, I can do whatever I want — it's my alternate fantasy reality!" she stretched her arm to the side. "Check this out!" rainbow-coloured flames appeared out of her hands.
The flames turn into a round double blade scythe with yellow stars at the bottom of the blades. The stars jingled as Mabel spun the scythe with both her hands in front, then behind her, and only stopped after Mabel put it on her shoulders. "And this is just a little bit of what I'm capable of — although, this weapon is one of the only things I can actually maintain in our dimension." she turned to Pacifica, seeing that she was perplexed and still confused. "You could say this is an extension of the Mindscape."
Pacifica blinked twice. "So, we can do anything here."
"Yep! But you have restrictions I don't, because I have magic." Mabel winked. "So that was the third question, go ahead and do two more."
