Pacifica looked in the mirror. She was used to wearing skirts, but she definitely wasn't used to a full fancy dress. Was she going to a psychic show or to a night party?
"I seriously prefer to wear my usual outfit," Pacifica said to her brother.
Gideon frowned. "Oh, c'mon, Paz! It's just for one night! Besides, you look cute in that dress, we both look cute in our outfits!"
Pacifica was wearing a lake foam green pouf dress with a pair of black flat shoes with bows in the front; she took her cap off and tied her hair in a bun with a braid. Gideon put on a sleeveless button blue blazer, his water drop shirt hidden by it, a pair of sneakers and this time — the first time since Pacifica met him — a pair of pants.
"I agree, we do look cute," Pacifica said. "But isn't this too much? It's just a show."
"I don't think so," Gideon said. "It's not uncomfortable, is it?"
Pacifica thought for a moment. Yeah, he was right, the dress wasn't uncomfortable, neither the shoes. She kept staring at her reflection, a short smile made its way to her face. She did look beautiful. Woah, woah there Pacifica. Don't get too cocky. Self-esteem is great, but don't turn it into a high ego. Chill out.
"It's not," she turned to Gideon. "Soos is waiting for us, let's go."
Gideon jumped excitedly. He ran to the door and opened it, checking both sides before holding his amulet through his shirt; he and Pacifica were surrounded by a blue whirl. Pacifica gasped as her feet was lifted off the floor and she flew with Gideon out of the room, to the staircase's handrail. The glow faded and the landed on the handrail. Gideon raised his arms and cheered excitedly as the siblings slid down until they reached Soos (who was standing by the end of the handrail, waiting for the two). Pacifica couldn't help but giggle.
She smoothed out her dress and looked up to Soos. "Did we make you wait for too long?"
"Not at all," Soos said. "Let's go, the line will get longer."
Gideon ran to the car (Soos' car) outside. Pacifica and Soos followed Gideon (in a more normal pace), chatting a bit until they got to it. The three got inside the car and put on their seatbelts. Soos put on the car key and turned it, turning on the car. He looked at the twins through the rearview mirror. "Ready?"
"Set!"
Pacifica got it. "Go."
Soos started to drive in a fast speed, whatever car was in front of him, get out of the way! Pacifica held herself on the belt and Gideon just raised his arms, enjoying the quick movements and the adrenaline of the speed. The car hit a bump, Pacifica and Gideon jumped on their seats with the belts holding them down. Gideon giggled, that was not an exciting experience for Pacifica; the adrenaline was good, but please, slow down!
The car was brought to a stop in a parking spot in the side of a road, Soos turned the key and the car turned off. He turned to the siblings, seeing Pacifica's expression. "Heh, sorry," he said, not seeming that apologetic. "I'm used to speeding up to get faster, and Gideon never had a problem with that, I should've been more careful."
Pacifica blinked, taking deep breaths. She tried to smile at Soos, but failed. "It's fine," she said. "Just slow down a bit next time. . ."
Soos put a thumbs up and took off his seatbelt. Gideon did the same and soon after Pacifica did too. The three hopped down the car and softly shut the doors, Soos locked the car with the keys. Gideon gasped and pointed to the other side of the road.
"Paz! Look! Look!"
Pacifica turned her head to look at the other side; her eyes went wide at the view. "Woah,"
