"how stupid of me, to think I was the only flower in your garden."
-when my phone buzzed in my back pocket, I didn't expect it to be amethyst, but it turns out it was. it kind of freaked out at first, but it just turned into nerves like always.
"you alright there mike?" luke interrupts my thoughts. "last time I checked, you never put your controller down in the middle of a game."
"uh, yeah I'm fine." I hesitate, my cheeks, heating up. my eyes trail back to the lit screen before a small smile that's hopefully unnoticeable appears on my face.
"well are you going to answer it?" a voice almost yells from beside me, making me nearly fall out of my seat.
"you scared the shit out of me." I chuckle to myself, making maisie laugh too.
"that's my specialty." she smiles
big. "answer it.""I am, I just am so confused. she ran away from me earlier and now she's texting me." I say with my eyebrows knitted together.
"well, you should know that it takes a girl a lot of courage to text a guy first." she inputs. "so you probably should text her back."
"I am, chill." I reply, maisie is really getting annoying now. I'm answering her I'm just nervous, why can't she see that?
I reply to her message with what I'd text her when we first started dating.
- hi :-)
"you're a cheese." maisie rolls her eyes and takes a sip from her coke can.
"I am not." I defend. I'm anything but that.
"a smiley face? really?" she says.
"um yeah." I reply.
"okay, whatever." she chuckles before taking another sip from the can.
maisie helps me text amethyst back and forth, being a girl and all.
"hey babe, what's that coffee shop we went to this morning?" she asks wren, as her head lays across his lap.
"wasn't it like café angry or something?" he asks, his face scrunching up in thought.
"yeah I think that was it." she says, sitting up. "you should take her there, they have bomb ass muffins there."
" I know how much she likes her muffins." I chuckle to myself while typing the name of the café in the phone.
"oh and by the way, it's café grumpy." I say to them once she answers.
"oh it's grumpy." she laughs to herself. "I knew that."
"mhm sure you did." I say, typing another message to her. she called me idiot. the nickname she made for me long before we started dating, and honestly it made my happy, knowing that she still sees me as an idiot. not as the boy who broke her heart to tiny pieces.
"you've got a date with your girl thanks to this chicka!" maisie smiles while pointing to herself with both hands.
"you keep thinking that." I laugh to her while all I receive is a pouty face.
"babe he's being mean to me." she tells wren in her five year old voice. all he does is wrap his arm tight around her torso.
"don't worry, he's just messing with you." he says before kissing her temple. they're cute, they really are, it just makes me uncomfortable when I'm all by myself, so I leave from the crowded living room and go into the lounge, which is basically another living room, to the couch where I'll be sleeping for a while.
