"if it hurts when you see them, you still care."

"and then she hugged me, and, wow, I just can't tell you how happy it made me." I explain to calum and ashton as luke and wren were trying to work the machine that we heaved into the apartment.

"you're so wipped." calum said in reply to my long vent about today.

"I guess you could say that." I chuckle lightly.

"you guess? dude, if she asked you to jump off a bridge you'd do it." ashton chips in, resting his hand into his palm.

"why don't you just ask her out?" calum asks me, like its that easy.

"well, that's the problem. well, kind of." I shrug, thinking about it.

"and?" he asks as if he were waiting for my explanation.

"well, first off, we agreed to be friends and take things slow. but that isn't the problem." I groan, scratching the back of my neck. "drew is the problem."

"who is this drew?" ashton asks me.

"he works with her and he totally likes her, I mean who wouldn't, but he's trying to get with her, and I can't let that happen." I explain, followed by a few moments of silence.

"FUCK!" is yelled from the other room. they boys and I go into the room to see suds everywhere from the machine as it shakes with only more suds coming from the opening.

"are you just going to sit there?" wren asks me as him and luke struggle to keep the lid shut.

"yeah, I actually think this is funny. let me go get the popcorn." I reply sarcastically, waltzing out of the room slowly.

"michael get your fucking ass in here!" Ashton screams while I'm looking in the kitchen for popcorn.

I roll my eyes and groan, walking to the room where all the chaos is. once I stand in the door frame, my eyes widen in shock at what lies before me.

the room is so full of suds, you can't even see where the boys are or where they went.

"holy shit." I mumble to myself before I walk into the mess, trying my hardest to find the plug.

"michael? Is that you?" I think it's luke says, I can't exactly tell.

"yes, I'm trying to find the fucking plug." I groan before I grab onto a cord and pull it, thankfully it is the one I've been looking for.

the shaking stops and the suds stop exploding from the lid.

"amen!" wren screams through the house as we all let out a sigh of relief ourselves.

"yep, I'm going to the dry cleaners." luke says as he pulls a snap back on his head.

"can I come?" I ask him awkwardly.

"yeah, let's go." he says quickly before I follow him out of the flat.

despite it being only 7:30, it's already dark outside. luke and I walk in a comfortable silence with a few words then and there, until something in particular catches my eye.

I stop in my tracks when I see it. we're on the outside of a steak house downtown, and there they are. amethyst, my girl, with Drew. or also known as 'the problem'.

she told me she didn't think it was going to happen, she told me she didn't have feelings for Drew that way, that there wasn't anything going on between them. maybe she just lied to make me feel better, but honestly I don't know. since we're 'friends' I know that she has the right to go out with guys to try things out, and I shouldn't get jealous about it. I mean, well I can at least try.
