A laugh fell from my lips—leaning into the kiss that Mili seemingly pulled me into.

I had just finished with my evening class and was finally able to head back over to Mili's.

I swear I had never showered and changed so quickly in my life—but after being away from her for an entire day, I felt far past desperate just to lay eyes on her.

Mili impatiently tugged at my pink tank top that I wore with black sweatpants.

"How was your day?" she murmured against my lips, pulling back slightly to meet my eyes.

I smiled, hugging her body closer to mine, "Excruciatingly long without you—how was yours?"

Mili hummed, "Exactly the same," she said, guiding me further into her loft.

My brows furrowed, noticing a bunch of ingredients sat out on the counters.

"What is all this?" I questioned curiously, setting my phone and bag down on the counter as I walked over to the items she had sat out.

Mili slid her arms around me, pulling me back into her body, "We're decorating Halloween cookies," she murmured, pressing a soft kiss to my neck.

My brows raised slightly, finding the activity entirely cute, "Really? That sounds like so much fun," I said, suddenly feeling like a child.

Cookie decorating felt oddly domestic, and I knew it would somehow bring Mili and me closer together—even if we already felt close enough.

Mili laughed at my excitement, suddenly twirling my dark hair that was pulled into a high ponytail, "This is cute," she said.

I felt my face warm up as I turned to face her, "Thank you," I murmured, staring between her eyes.

Mili hummed, "I like it when your hair is pulled up," she said, and I swear it sounded like an insinuation.

Like there was a purpose for my hair being pulled back.

I raised a brow, "Are you hinting at something?"

Mili's lips twitched up into a smirk, "Aren't I always?" she questioned back, clearly not denying anything.

And just like that—my face was burning up, forcing me to quickly look away from Mili as a laugh fell from her perfect lips.

Mili walked past me as she reached for the remote to one of the speakers, and while she seemingly got her phone connected, I couldn't help but eye her completely.

From the extremely cropped graphic tee that showed off her toned stomach to the dark gray sweatpants that hung low on her waist—she looked incredible.

Especially with her curly hair pulled up into a bun and illuminating her sharp bare face.

Mili raised a slight brow, easily making me purse my lips into a shy smile.

Was I staring for too long?

Probably.

I suddenly took a step closer to her, "You look really good," I whispered, wrapping my arms around her.

Mili smiled slightly as she shuffled one of her playlists on her phone, "Yeah? Because I think I look better with your arms wrapped around me," she said, looking down at me as she set her phone down that was playing a soft R&B through the speakers.

I smiled slightly, "Really? I was thinking vice versa," I said, basically countering her compliment.

Mili shook her head at me, "Why can't you just say, yes Mili you're so right—you're always right, instead of challenging me?" she said, mimicking my voice.
