"I'm so sorry I had to be the bearer of bad news" said Chad.
"I'm used to bad news" said Sam.
"But I'm not used to giving it to you, Sam; you don't deserve it" said Chad.
"Nobody deserved this news" said Sam. "Listen, Chad, I'm not gonna let Walt's death ruin my Christmas. But at the same time, I'm not blind at how awful it is having him gone."
"Nor I" Chad agreed.
Sam sighed. "Y'know... Actorville just won't be the same without Walt."
"I know. Without him, his company is no longer magic" said Chad.
"It could still be magic. Just... in a different way" said Sam.
"What d'you mean?" said Chad.
"It's something my brother and I learned a long time ago. Walt dying is the end of Actorville as it is, but it's also the beginning of what comes next for it" said Sam.
She sang to make her point.
What makes a river flow?
Open the leaves of trees as they grow
It's the wings of a world that's just out of you
Wonder is all around
Raising each breeze, each seed in the ground
If you only believe, then the magic is true
Just like the magic in you
But you might may feel small now
And dreams can feel so far
You never know, your simple glow
Could light a brand new star
Cause every heart is a perfect part
Of nature's great design
And who you are can shine
Now we're on our way
Waiting to see what treasures await
And we're finding the joy in everything
Trusting in how we feel
Hope becomes dreams and dreams become real
With the help that you give and the beauty you bring
Winter is turning to spring
But you might may feel small now
And dreams can feel so far
You never know, your simple glow
Could light a brand new star
Cause every heart is a perfect part
Of nature's great design
And who you are can shine
Even in the dark, just keep on trying
Chad: Suddenly, the world is bright
both: But you might may feel small now
And dreams can feel so far
You never know, your simple glow
Could light a brand new star
Cause every heart is a perfect part
Of nature's great design
And who you are (Sam: no matter who you are), can shine
You know you can shine
Chad hugged Sam again. "Only you can find something positive about loss."
"Thanks. But my point is, Actorville is still here. So the rest of its members can do what Walt never had the chance to" said Sam.
"You're absolutely right. I s'pose that's what the veterans are meeting about" said Chad.
"I hope they pick a good replacement for Walt's office" said Sam.
"Me too. And on that note... I'd best be headed home. Care to join?" said Chad.
"No thanks, Chad. I gotta go to Jill's baby shower" said Sam.
"But she's nine months along. Isn't it a bit late?" said Chad.
"Sure, but at least we're having it while she's still pregnant" said Sam.
Trusty nodded his head vigorously.
"See? Trusty gets my point. As his grandpappy Ol' Reliable used to say, better late than never" said Sam.
Chad laughed a little. "Everyone says that, luv. Have fun."
