Chapter 7 - Villanelle

Life is nothing but a game. But instead of a chessboard, we are all playing on one big gameboard called Earth. instead of only 2 players, there are a lot more with different strategies. This game we call politics. But like in a chess game, you must play with care. One wrong move can cost you the whole game, and with the game, your life. This pieces? Are your pawn. Your pawns to sacrifice. In this cruel and harsh landscape. Only by playing the game right can you survive.

Sacrifices are inevitable in this game. Your pawns will inevitably be lost. Your knights, your rooks, even your bishops could fall victim to this cruel game. But every piece served a purpose, it was not all for nothing. The pawns held the enemy at bay, the knights and rooks bought time, and even your bishops fought till the last minute to protect the rest of your board.

That is why Y/N is seen as valuable to Vice President Constantine. As the game progresses, the moves that we make may appear to be our own, but our fate has been sealed from the beginning. The outcome has already been predetermined, and we are simply playing to its script.

But for Y/N, is he associated with chaos itself too? Does this mean that he, too, is in bed with the Devil? Could that be why he seems so confident and nonchalant in the face of danger and adversity? Or is it that he has accepted his fate and the chaos that comes with it? No one can be certain, but there is no doubt that Y/N is a wildcard, and his actions could have consequences.

Everything in his life has been amusing and entertaining to him. Y/N may be a person who simply enjoys the chaos that life throws at him. But he has a way of causing unexpected trouble in any situation. It is his nature to do so, and he sees nothing wrong with it. He simply sees the world as a game, and life as a board that he can play around with. Vice President Constantine will soon come to realize that Y/N is not someone to be underestimated.

To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.

Sometimes, you gotta play a role. Even if it means people you love hate you for it. It leads us down a path that makes us lose sight of who we really are. It can also lead to being misunderstood and hated by those close to us, simply because they don't know the real us. As Y/N had already experienced, it wasn't easy living a double life and constantly putting up a front to please others.

Vice President Constantine sat alone in her office, the dark of night outside the windows surrounding her. The only light came from the dim glow of her desk lamp, which illuminated the small pieces of a chessboard in front of her. She held one piece of a bishop in her hand, moving it to the next square and smirking. She had already made her move, and She seemed to have no doubt in her mind that Y/N was now nothing more than her puppet. It was all part of her plan to make use of this chaotic and unpredictable boy. What would she use him for? Only time will tell...
