Théa followed Camie back to her house and she couldn't help being anxious:
"Is your father at home?"
Camie looked at the time.
"He should be.
-Oh... Okay."
Théa thought a second before asking another question:
"Should I call him Mister Dred? Or should I call him by his first name?"
Camie didn't have time to answer that Théa shook her head:
"No, I will call him Mister Dred."
Camie frowned:
"How do you know my last name?"
Théa started blushing:
"I heard it once.
-I know yours too. Amaltheia Malum."
Théa opened wide eyes:
"And how do you know my last name?"
Camie pinched her lips. She couldn't tell her that she saw it in her visions. Even if she wanted to, she would be unable to say the words.
"I..."
Seeing Camie hesitating made Théa smirk:
"I like it when you say my name."
The way Théa said it sounded so weird that Camie looked at her feet. They continued walking in silence but soon it got broken by Théa again:
"Should I quickly buy something before we get there? What does he like? I don't want to come empty handed.
-I don't really think that he's home. But if you feel uncomfortable, you could wait for me downstairs. I'll be quick.
-No, it's okay. I would love to see your home."
Théa couldn't calm down for the rest of the way and she quickly rushed into a bakery to buy a cake just in case. This finally seemed to calm her down a bit however that soon changed. When they walked in and she heard a man's voice, Théa lost a bit of color.
"Camie? Are you home already?"
Camie's father walked to the entrance and seeing Théa made him stop:
"Oh, good evening. I am Camie's father."
Théa bowed:
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir. I am Amaltheia, Camie's friend. I brought you a little something."
Camie's father opened wide eyes:
"Are you Théa perhaps?"
Théa flinched:
"I am."
Mister Dred's smile immediately widened:
"Camie is talking about you all the time."
Théa started blushing profusely. She started playing with her fingers like a little child:
"Really?
-Yes. You seem like a very good friend to her. Thank you so much for making my daughter happy. But... Camie? What happened to your face?"
Her father rushed to Camie and started scanning her face:
"Did you fall? Are you okay?
-Yes, Théa already treated my wounds.
-Are you sure?
-Yes."
Her father sighed:
"Camie isn't on good terms with gravity. Thank you for helping her. And thank you for the cake, you shouldn't have. Please come in. I'll make you something to eat.
-Thank you so much."
Théa rushed after Camie's father to help. Camie stayed behind and watched the two of them smiling in the kitchen. What the hell was going on? Black Gold was in her kitchen, talking to her father as if nothing. How would her father react if he knew who Théa really was? Would he not care? Would he ask for an autograph?
"May I help you with something, Mister Dred?
-You are very sweet. I am fine. Camie? Could you show your friend around? I will quickly make cookies while you do.
-Okay!"
Théa followed Camie around the house and Camie kept her room for last. She opened the door and let Théa walk in first. At that exact moment, her father yelled:
"Oh, your gift arrived today. I put it on your bed."
Camie had no idea what her father was talking about. But a second later, it hit her. She remembered their conversation about Black Gold. She remembered the shirt.
"Wait!"
She rushed in and saw the shirt on her bed. It had been folded and perfectly placed on her bed. Black Gold's face was perfectly visible from afar. Camie's worst nightmare was happening. She couldn't have Black Gold see that shirt. She jumped on it and threw it as far away as possible. She didn't dare look up for long seconds but hearing nothing but silence, she finally raised her head. When she did, Théa didn't seem phased, she did get back some of her colors but she was looking somewhere else. Did she not see it? Camie sighed. She avoided a disaster.
"Is that you?"
Camie looked where Théa was and she smiled seeing the picture on her desk:
"Yes. It was on my 12th birthday. My dad brought me to the aquarium and I got the biggest octopus plushie ever."
Théa smiled:
"You look happy.
-I was.
-Do you still like aquariums?
-I don't know. I haven't been in a long time.
-We could go together someday if you want."
Camie quickly nodded. She thought that they were done with that conversation with Théa continued staring at the picture.
"You were already adorable back then. I would love to see you smile like that."
Having no idea what to answer, Camie quickly cleared her throat:
"I have a bat!"
She rushed to her library and grabbed her figurine:
"It was my favorite toy as a child. I always played with it. I used to throw it across the room, saying that I was teaching him how to fly."
Théa laughed:
"I am sure that you were a great teacher.
-Well, he never learned how to fly... But that's on him being made of plastic."
Camie grabbed another toy on her shelf:
"And I had a frog for my bath who I was teaching how to swim.
-You really loved teaching.
-Yes. I wanted to be a teacher for a long time. I loved people listening to me."
Théa bent closer to Camie:
"I love listening to you."
Camie frowned:
"I don't want to be a teacher anymore."
