Camie didn't hear Théa coming back into the room and jumped. Théa looked down at what was in Camie's hands before smiling:
"Do you like it?"
Camie hid the papers behind her back for some reason and realized that she looked suspicious, so she immediately took them out from behind her. While doing so, Camie looked back at Théa and realized that she was in a single towel. Seeing the hero dressed so skimpily made Camie jump again. She started looking all around the room so as to not to look at Théa's body. Théa ignored Camie's behavior and walked closer. She stopped inches from Camie and looked at the first drawing that Camie was holding:
"I don't really like this one."
That woke Camie up and she completely forgot about being shy:
"Why? It's enchanting! You really gave momentum to that tree. It looks as if a huge storm is coming."
Théa smiled and lowered her head, almost resting it on Camie's shoulder:
"If you like it, that's the most important. You can have it if you want."
Camie's eyes couldn't help shining:
"Really?"
She didn't give Théa time to answer and shook her head:
"No. This is your masterpiece. You should hang it in your room. Or send it to a gallerie."
Théa smiled:
"I would by far prefer you having it."
Camie tilted her head:
"Don't you want your drawings to be exposed for others to see?"
Théa shook her head. Now that Camie was thinking about it, she didn't remember Théa ever wanting to pursue a drawing career in the visions. For her, drawing was only a hobby or a tool to achieve her dreams of fashion designer. If Théa didn't want to show her drawings to the others then she shouldn't be forced to. Camie understood that and she didn't want to force Théa to do anything she didn't feel comfortable with.
Camie looked back at the drawing:
"I can't help thinking that it's a waste. Such talent shouldn't be hidden. It would be like stealing."
Théa started laughing. Her whole face lit up and she looked dazzling. Seeing her so happy made Camie blush and she couldn't help looking away. She looked back at the drawing and forced herself to focus on it. She had no problem ignoring people usually but she had a hard time doing so with Théa and that was unsettling. Camie couldn't stop thinking about the presence behind her and she started fidgeting.
Thé immediately noticed her unease and she rubbed her eyes:
"I'm sorry, Camie. I didn't mean to make fun of you. I hope that I didn't hurt you. I was just very happy to hear that you thought so highly of my drawings."
Camie couldn't help pouting:
"Anyone would say the same thing."
Seeing Camie's face, Théa had a very hard time holding back her laughter:
"You are really the cutest."
Camie's face became flushed in a second and her head sunk down. Théa didn't dare tease any more and pinched her lips. She hesitated before saying:
"Speaking of drawings..."
She walked up to her desk and opened the first drawer. She took something out and continued staring at it before finally coming back towards Camie:
"Remember when I was drawing in the Parc?
-Yes."
Camie usually answered such questions without meaning it. She never knew what the other person was referring to but she didn't dare ask for more information. However, she was surprised when she realized that she immediately knew what Théa was talking about.
"I finally finished it."
Camie took the frame from Théa's shaking hands. What she saw then made her glitch:
"That's..."
Théa waited anxiously for Camie to say more.
"That's me!
-Yes...
-Why would you draw me?"
Théa laughed:
"Why not?
-But...
-Do you like it?
-Of course! I look gorgeous! Is this how you see me?
-Yes."
When Camie looked up, Théa was looking at her very intensely and she completely forgot what to say. She felt her cheeks heat up and started rambling:
"I really love it, thank you. You really are the best artists ever. Even better than Morissot. Even Artemisia Gentileschi would be jealous seeing this. It is just perfect. It looks like a picture. I would be scared to look at it at night fearing that she would disappear or move. Not that she looks scary or anything. She just looks very realistic. And very pretty. I am not ugly but she looks way prettier than me."
Théa bent closer and looked at the drawing in Camie's hands:
"I don't see any difference.
-I...
-If anything, you are way prettier in real life. I tried my best but I couldn't catch such luminous beauty."
Théa's smile widened:
"It seems you really are unique."
Théa was inches from Camie's face and continued staring at her. Camie had no idea what to answer to such compliments. She had never heard anyone compliment her of the sort before. Especially not Théa. If there was someone who deserved compliments it was Théa, not Camie.
"You are even prettier! You..."
Camie felt that her words would be weak compared to Théa's but she really wanted to say it:
"You are the most gorgeous person I have ever seen. I know that perfect doesn't exist and you don't have to be perfect but you are just perfect. Perfect just the way you are."
Théa blushed:
"Do you really think so?
-Of course!"
Camie had no other idea than to start describing Théa's face to make her understand how radiant she really was:
"Your skin looks very soft and has a pretty brown color. Your eyes are symmetrical and have different layers of green in them. Your eyebrows are the perfect length, not going too far after your eyes. I like their color too. The same color as your hair. Your curls look just as soft as your skin. Your nose is straight and your jaw is sharp. Your lips..."
For some reason, Camie felt weird describing Théa's lips. She swallowed hard before looking away:
"Anyway, you understand what I mean."
Théa took a step closer:
"I don't, please could you explain?
-I..."
Camie couldn't look up at Théa and feeling that she wouldn't say more, Théa took the lead:
"I like your face way better Camie. Especially your lips. They look very soft."
Théa licked her lips before looking up at Camie's eyes. The latter felt her whole body freeze.
