Camie felt like crying. This jewelry box was so pretty and it was created by none other than Théa. She spent so much time and poured all her heart into this wonder. Camie wished she knew how to repair it but there was nothing she could do. Should she steal it? Maybe that would make the teacher pity Théa and give her a good grade. But would people think that Théa didn't finish her work and lied that it got stolen? Would she get into trouble?

Camie grunted. This was way too hard. She had no idea what to do but didn't really have time to figure it out because she heard a voice behind her:

"Camie?"

Our protagonist jumped after hearing the main character of her visions.

"What are you doing here?"

Camie had completely forgotten that Théa would come back to get the pencil case she had forgotten in class. What should she do? Théa will see what happened to the jewelry box. Camie couldn't do anything and just waited for Théa to walk closer. Those few seconds felt like forever and Camie closed her eyes. When Théa got close enough she finally noticed the crime scene and gasped:

"Oh..."

This woke Camie up and she turned to Théa with worried eyes:

"I didn't do it! I swear!"

Against all odds, Théa smiled:

"I know. It's okay."

What?

"No it isn't! Ember sabotaged your work! You should be mad.

-I don't really care.

-But... Why? This is unfair. You did an amazing job and now you will fail this class because of someone else's jealousy."

Théa tilted her head with a smirk:

"Why do you care so much, Camie?

-Because I do! You don't deserve this. You should tell the teachers.

-I really don't care, Camie. Teachers would find us childish if they knew what was going on and I can't have that. I can take care of this on my own.

-But you are not doing anything. You are just taking her bullying. You deserve so much better than this.

-She will stop eventually. She is just doing it because I am a threat to her. So I just have to continue designing and prove my worth through my work.

-No... That's..."

Théa laughed for some reason before raising her hand towards Camie's cheek. She stopped before touching her however and put her hand back down.

"You are truly a hero, Camie. Just like Black Gold."

Camie's head jerked up:

"No! I could never be her. She is way too strong and impressive for anyone else to do what she does. I would crumble if I were her. And it's okay if she does. Everyone makes mistakes. That's okay."

Camie looked Théa deep in the eyes and Théa froze hearing those words. Realizing what she had just said, Camie coughed uncomfortably:

"Sorry. I talk way too much. I have to go now."

She walked around Théa and tried leaving but the latter held her back:

"You like Black Gold a lot don't you?

-Of course I do. She is the only reason why Omen doesn't rule over the world.

-What about the other heroes? What about Phoenix?

-They are very good too but for some reason even they are relying on Black Gold. It's as if no one could breathe without her. Can't she take a break? She is the only one who is always fighting. As soon as she doesn't show up, people start criticizing her. Forgetting those 8 years of loyal service. It must be horrible."

Théa smiled:

"I see."

Camie stared at her for a few seconds wondering if she would say something else. Seeing that Camie was waiting made Théa bite her lower lip:

"Would you say no if I offered to buy you a coffee?

-I..."

Camie didn't feel like she deserved a coffee. She couldn't even protect a jewelry box from sabotage.

"I'm sorry.

-It's okay. There's no pressure."

Camie bit her lip in turn and hesitated before saying:

"You deserve way more than you think."

She didn't give her time to answer and Camie turned back before walking away. She was exhausted and sad. She knew what would happen and still failed. She felt so hurt that tears started flowing down her face as she was walking. People started staring at her with questioning eyes but no one dared ask her if she was okay. Therefore Camie reached her room without a problem and she immediately laid down to sleep.

She needed the rest because the next day there would be another attack. Camie had promised herself never to return to the fight scene and it was obvious why. She didn't have any powers and couldn't help the heroes in any way. She would only be an obstacle and could even put the heroes into a dangerous situation. Despite all of this, she couldn't stop thinking about what would happen. Omen would send even more people then last time and Théa would have to get hurt to win. She would spot an innocent person being attacked and she would jump in front of an arrow to save the passer by.

This wouldn't kill her of course. Black Gold was way too strong to be killed by a mere arrow. But she would still have an arrow planted in her left shoulder and would have to pull it out herself. Camie could still remember the grunt she had left out at that moment and she could only imagine how painful it must have been. She couldn't stay seated as Théa was getting hurt. Wouldn't it be a failure to assist someone in danger? If she knew that someone would get hurt she should do something about it. Right? But what could she do? Camie had no idea and the only thing she could think of the next day was to take a pan with her to class.

She didn't really have weapons at home and when she saw the pan she got reminded of Rapunzel. The latter knocked out Flynn quite easily and that made Camie think that she could do the same. It did sound stupid but it was better than nothing.

Of course the pan was way too big to fit into her bag and Camie left almost all her furniture back home. Her friends did find the shape of her backpack weird and asked her about it:

"Oh it's nothing. I just... Brought a pan.

-You what?

-A pan.

-Why would you do that?

-I just... We never know."

Emma frowned:

"We never know when you would start craving some scrambled eggs?

-Exactly."

Her friends exchanged a very confused look but for some reason they didn't pry anymore and the day went on as usual. Camie did borrow a pen from Nylora before going to her first class. She tried her best to stay focused but she was way too stressed. She couldn't stop staring at the time and would retrace the upcoming events again and again in her head.

"Camie? Are you listening?"

The latter jumped on her seat:

"Of course. People with ADHD have at least one defective gene that makes it difficult for neurons to respond to dopamine.

-And which gene have we talked about?

-The DRD2 gene."

The teacher didn't seem satisfied. It seemed she knew that Camie hadn't been paying attention but she couldn't prove it.

"Pay attention.

-Yes, sorry."

Of course she didn't pay attention.
