Théa finally obliged and put Camie down. The latter thought that Black Gold would immediately rush to the elderly woman but instead she continued staring at Camie. The latter finally realized what she had been waiting for and sat down. Seeing her do so, Black Gold finally walked up to the elderly woman and crouched down in front of her. Camie didn't stay put for long because she crawled closer to them:

"How is she?"

Black Gold turned towards Camie and didn't seem in a good mood but she didn't say anything and turned back towards the fainted person:

"She needs an ambulance but I don't think her life is at stake."

Camie let out all the air in her lungs:

"Thank Black Gold."

Black Gold put the woman in recovery position and grabbed her hand:

"Madame, can you hear me? Please press my hand if you can hear me."

She waited a bit but nothing happened. Camie immediately took her phone out to call an ambulance but what she heard next was sirens. They were pretty close and Camie jumped on her feet:

"Here! We are here!"

Black Gold quickly surrounded her waist of her arm to stabilize her:

"You shouldn't jump around. You should get checked out as soon as possible. What if you got a concussion?"

Camie didn't dare argue and she promised to stop. People suddenly started coming back on the scene. Camie thought that the first people to reach them would be doctors but the first people that arrived were journalists. They rushed to Camie with their cameras pointed at her and she thought she would hit them. They didn't have time to take pictures of Camie, however, because black smoke suddenly surrounded their cameras. That didn't make them very happy and they started yelling at Black Gold:

"What are you doing? This is censorship!

-What are you hiding?

-You can't hide the truth!"

Camie thought she would go crazy and she started yelling back:

"What the hell is wrong with you? Instead of taking pictures why don't you help the victims?"

The journalists didn't have time to answer because Black Gold suddenly propulsed them backwards with her powers. She then strengthened her hold around Camie's body and felt her forehead, looking for a fever:

"You should try staying calm. Anger isn't good.

-But they were screaming at you...

-It's okay. I don't care.

-But I do!"

Camie turned back towards the people struggling to get up:

"They are the ones always spreading rumors about you and they dare act hurt.

-I know, but they aren't important now. The most important is to get you treated."

Camie didn't have time to answer because the next person to arrive was none other than Phoenix. He fell down in front of them loudly and Camie immediately felt heat on her face. Black Gold shielded Camie's body from Phoenix's powers. The latter immediately waved at Camie when he saw her:

"Hello again! I am so glad that our paths meet again."

He noticed Camie's state and grimaced:

"But it would have been better if it could have been in other conditions."

Black Gold didn't have time to chat. She lifted Camie, not even turning back to Phoenix:

"Now that you are here, you can take care of this."

She didn't wait for an answer and propulsed herself to the building's roof.

"Are you okay?"

Camie quickly nodded.

"Please hold out just for a bit longer."

Black Gold continued jumping from roof to roof until she reached the hospital. She didn't go to the entrance and turned her back towards a window, smashing it open, while shielding Camie with her body. The crash of breaking glass drew everyone's attention and Black Gold's urgent scream amplified the alarm:

"Help! We need help over here!"

The commotion caused a ripple through the hospital. Camie thought she would die of shame. Black Gold's desperate tone made it look as if she was dying, prompting a swift response from the staff. Seeing Black Gold herself scream for help, everyone thought it was something very serious. Within seconds, five medical personnel rushed towards them, ready for a critical emergency. Camie really wished it would be.

A doctor, leading the team, immediately took charge:

"What happened to her?"

She grabbed Camie's face firmly and flashed a light into her left eye, checking for pupil response while other nurses surrounded her.

"Prepare the ER!"

One of the nurses further away called out, readying a gurney. Hands moved over Camie's body, checking for injuries, assuming she was unconscious given how Black Gold was holding her. However, Camie was very much awake. She got taken aback by the strong response and needed a second to get back to her senses. She tried to interject but Black Gold was faster:

"She was attacked."

Black Gold sounded breathless. Way too breathless for someone as fine as Camie.

"She hit her head badly and could have had a concussion. The skin on her hand got pulled off and her knees were grazed. There could be more injuries I haven't noticed."

Black Gold didn't stop enumerating her visibly unserious wounds and Camie prayed for her to stop. One of the nurses gently but firmly took Camie's arm, starting to check her pulse while another began assessing the visible wounds. Confusion flickered on the faces of the staff as they tried to piece together the scene. Camie finally spoke up:

"It's nothing serious. I just fell."

She should have stopped talking because Black Gold immediately shot her an angry glance.

"She got knocked into a tree with full force. She didn't just fall.

-But...

-You could be seriously injured."

The doctor leading the team looked from Black Gold to Camie, maintaining a professional calm. Camie didn't know if she preferred that or the doctor screaming at them.

"Let's get her to the ER for a thorough check. We need to rule out any serious injuries."

She smiled at Camie gently:

"Can you walk?"

Camie quickly nodded but Black Gold didn't let her finish:

"I will carry her."

The doctor looked up at Black Gold, not losing her smile:

"I understand you are worried about your precious friend. I promise that I won't let anything happen to her. I can assure you that."

Seeing Black Gold slightly relax made the doctor's smile widen:

"First we should make sure that she is stable. Could you place her on the gurney?"

Black Gold pinched her lips but immediately obliged. She didn't step away, however, following Camie closely. Seeing how strongly she was clenching her fists, one of the nurses rubbed Black Gold's shoulder:

"Don't worry, Doctor Marianne is the best. She won't let anything happen to your friend.

As they moved swiftly towards the ER, the medical team continued their preliminary checks, speaking in calm, reassuring tones to both Camie and Black Gold.

"Head trauma can be tricky, but we'll run all the tests necessary to make sure everything's okay."

Black Gold nodded, grabbing Camie's hand, comfortingly. Despite her embarrassment, Camie couldn't help feeling relaxed surrounded by all those benevolent people. She almost felt like a real patient and forgot how terrible she felt taking up these people's time.
