In the pitched-black hours of the night, I was awoken by the feeling of Anakin's body trashing and twitching in his sleep, along with his voice moaning and groaning— sounding as if he was being tortured. He was having a nightmare.

Sweat beads rolled down his forehead as his body trembled, tossing and turning continuously in the sheets. I outstretched my arm to gently rock his shoulder, to wake him from whatever dark dream plagued his psyche, but his body immediately relaxed at the contact— as if my touch was the only medicine he needed to sooth himself. The forbidden thought that I could conjure such a reaction from him warmed my heart.

I shuffled over to him in the bed, curling my body into his chest with the intention to keep him in a calmative state overnight. I rationalized that this was fine because it was purely to assist him in getting a good night's rest... that there was nothing romantic about it... I was just being thoughtful.

Oh, who was I kidding?

The sunrise gleamed through the balcony in our room, stirring me from my slumber. A chill rushed throughout my body and my eyelids peered open, surprising me when I found I was no longer in Anakin's arms and that he wasn't in the bed at all. I searched for his signature, and immediately I experienced a heavy emotional burden blaring at me through the Force— an all-consuming pain and immense fear. It was coming from the direction of the balcony, and I immediately got up to investigate.

I found Anakin deep in meditation as he faced the calming seascape, the combination of which seemed to be slowly soothing his emotions. I backtracked my steps slowly, attempting to retreat as not to disturb his potential peace. I would ask him about it later.

I should have known he would sense my presence through the Force. "Don't go." He pleaded, his voice sounding so vulnerable, like that of a small child.
