I adjusted the luxurious silk pillows on the bed, trying to ease my nerves by focusing on anything but tonight. I know temptation may arise. His body will be laying only inches from my own, in only our sleep attire. And then there's the fact that since we arrived in the Lake Country, we haven't been able to keep our desires at bay.

My brain couldn't help but race with images of what transpired between us the last time we were on this bed together... and then moved to earlier today when we were in the gymnasium. Worry consumed me as I wondered if I would have the strength to stop it this time. If I was being truthful, I knew the moment his lips met mine it would be game-over.

Anakin had gone to the walk-in closet to change, and so I took one last look at my reflection in the mirror, knowing he would be re-enter our room any minute now. I know I shouldn't, but I found myself wanting to look good for him.

I wore a pale yellow silk nightgown with floral patterns embroidered with rainbow-coloured thread and beading. The night air of Naboo felt chillier than it had been the night before, so I layered the gown with a navy blue velvety-knit robe. I wore my hair mostly down in loose curls, with a few strands of hair pinned back to accentuate my facial features. I had showered earlier, and part of me shamefully hoped Anakin would be able to smell the expensive shampoos I had lathered thoroughly my hair.

I adjusted my hair in the mirror once more before I saw as a shirtless Anakin re-enter the room through my reflection. Our eyes locked on each other through the mirror image. He smiled at me and I blushed in response— something that a few days ago, I would have never in a million years expected to happen.

He slowly advanced towards me, and my breath caught in my throat as I felt his presence directly behind me as his hands slowly slide around my waist. He leaned down and whispered in my ear "which side of the bed did you want?" His voice was low and seductive, leaving my throat feeling dry.

He began to trail soft kisses along my neck, and I felt like I could barely breathe, let alone speak. "I—I usually sleep kind of in the middle." I stuttered out a reply.

"What a coincidence," He purred. "So do I."

I gulped. His voice, his words, his restrained kisses on my neck, and his strong grip on my hips as he massaged his fingers into my skin— it was all too much. My knees felt weak. It wouldn't be long before this escalated again to a place we shouldn't go.

"Anakin..." I warned him weakly, trying to remind him that what we were doing was against the rules.

"I know," He sighed, releasing my hips from his grasp and taking a step back. "It's just, I can't seem to help it, Y/N. I can't seem to stay away from you."

My expression softened. He was being so vulnerable with me again. I wanted so badly to tell him everything I was feeling for him, about how I wanted to give in to his touch and never stop.
