Chapter 23 - Adamo

*A/N - I'm gonna be completely honest with you all and say I don't know much about all the planets in the Star Wars galaxy. I decided to make one up, choosing the name Adamo. Adamo in Latin means to fall in love with, which I thought was perfect for both my description of the planet and the plot. :)*

Y/N's POV:

The sound of my comlink beeping erratically woke me up in the morning. There was a message from the Council indicating I needed to immediately make my way to the High Council Tower for details regarding an off-planet assignment.

I groaned and pulled Padme's guest bedroom blanket above my head, wishing I could go back to sleep. I was tired and my muscles were sore from last night... another reason to hate Anakin.

Speaking of the devil himself, I really hoped this off-planet mission wasn't with him. I knew Mace had mentioned we had an upcoming assignment together, but I prayed it would be a tiny one on Coruscant— not one that required us to travel long distances alone together.

I didn't know how I would face him again after last night. I believed it was necessary to avoid him as much as possible if I wished to circumvent another "accident"— especially considering we had already hooked up not even a full 24-hours after he had returned to the Temple...

I quickly dressed in my robes, cleaned up the space a little, and sent Padme a text thanking her for letting me borrow a dress and staying at her place before quietly shutting my door behind me to go. I didn't want to wake her since it was still early.

To my surprise; however, she was already awake, having a coffee at her kitchen island. "Leaving already?" She asked.

"The Council has summoned me." I replied. "How are you up so early?"

"There's a meeting with the rest of the senate this morning. I leave in 15." She sighed. "Why they choose to schedule it this early I'll never understand."

My new droid, Katie, alerted us to her presence then with a beep, bringing me a cup of orange juice and a piece of buttered toast on a tray.

I loved my new friend so much already.

"Good-morning, Katie." I greeted her with a gentle smile. "Is this for me? Thank you!"

She beeped positively. "Anything for my Master."

I realized today might be her first mission with me. "Katie, how do you feel about going on an adventure?"

She twirled in a circle and whistled in excitement.  I couldn't wait to bring her along.

I scarfed down my toast and juice as fast as I could, thanked Padme goodbye once more, and sped back with Katie to the Tower.

"Good evening, Grand Master Yoda." I bowed as we entered the building. I repeated the action with the two other Council members, Master Windu and Master Kenobi. They all politely greeted me back in response.

"An assignment for you, we have." Master Yoda tells me as they take their seats in their Council chairs. I stand in the middle of the room with Katie waiting for more information.

Before Master Yoda opens his mouth to divulge anymore on the subject, my heart begins to pound in my chest when I feel Anakin's Force signature nearing.

Please don't mean what I think this means. I begin to panic.

"Join you, young Skywalker will be." Master Yoda says.

Shit.

Anakin slowly makes his way towards us, taking his place standing directly at my side. His close proximity makes my whole body feel as if it's on fire. I try not to think about what we did together last night in Padme's office. I instead remind myself of everything he confessed to me last year before he left, of all the cruelness in his heart.
