*One week later...*
Anakin's POV:
I think we christened every part of our new home twice before finished our honeymoon.
Is it possible for a penis to fall off from overuse? I hope not.
I peer over at my beautiful wife who's curled up asleep in her seat next to me as I pilot us back to the Temple. We didn't get much sleep on our honeymoon, so I'm glad she can do some catching up now before we return. Me on the other hand, I will gladly endure the consequences of my sleep deprivation in exchange for the week I had.
The Battle of Coruscant, as the republic is calling it, where I was almost fatally wounded, had left the Jedi Temple in partial ruin. None of the common areas were destroyed, but many of our order's living quarters had become uninhabitable.
Droids have worked tirelessly since that day to rebuild, but a full restoration is anticipated to take at least a few months due to the extent of the damage.
The Council worked quickly to find temporary shelter in the form of apartments for the order, including for Y/N and I. Today, Obi-Wan would provide us with the keys to our new living quarters. Not that Y/N and I needed keys— as in plural— We would only be using one, but obviously the Council couldn't know that.
We exited the hangar bay with Obi-Wan already there to greet us. "Anakin, Y/N, I hope your time off has kept you both well." He gave us a curt nod, trying not to display too much emotion while other Jedi's were within the vicinity. I know he much rather would have met us with a hug though. Despite his reputation as a "stoic" Jedi Master, the man is a hugger.
"Indeed." Y/N replied. "Thank you, Master Kenobi." She used his formal name in public as to not raise suspicion.
"Our retreat was very nice." I grinned, recalling all the particularly nice moments Y/N and I shared. "Naboo provided us with a lot of new places and time to meditate."
Y/N shot me a glare while Obi-Wan's face contorted. "I don't need to hear the details, Anakin."
I couldn't help my smirk. "Sorry."
Obi-Wan rubbed his temples. "Just—Never
mind." He let out an exacerbated sigh. "I have something for you.""The keys to our new apartments?" Y/N asked.
"Keys to an apartment." Obi-Wan corrected her, making us both turn our heads. He grins widely, leaning in towards us as he drops the identical keys in our hands. "Consider this your wedding gift." He speaks quietly so no one around us might hear.
"We're sharing an apartment?" I ask in a low voice, struggling to ask discreetly due to my surprise. Y/N looks up at Obi-Wan in disbelief. "How is that possible?"
Obi-Wan shrugs. "There weren't enough single bedroom apartments available. Some Jedi Knights had to be paired up. You two just happen to be one of those unlucky pairs." There's a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, silently letting us know of his metalling without coming right out with it.
Y/N and I exchange glances, both of us struggling to contain our happiness over the news.
"You mean to tell me I have to share an apartment with her?! Obi-Wan how could you let this happen to me?" I act outraged with the idea.
"This can't be!" Y/N pretends to nauseated by the decision as well. "There's got to be something you can do!"
Obi-Wan holds back his own smile, playing along. "The assignments were drawn randomly. I'm sorry you two, but the decision is final."
