*A/N - The inspo for this chapter from Anakin's perspective is the song "Right Where You Left Me" by Taylor Swift— hence the chapter title.(;

I also took inspo from Greek Mythology when it came to the differences between they way Anakin and Y/N fight during the Clone Wars. The 501st legion reminds me of Artemis — who uses bruit strength in battle tactics. Goddess Athena is known as the antithesis to Artemis when it comes to her battle strategy, so I modelled Y/N's legion after her.

Side note, one year has passed since the events of the last chapter. Anakin now looks like he did during the Clone Wars with the shorter hair, but don't worry, we will get to the ROTS hair because that's my favourite;);).

As always, please enjoy my lovely readers!!:)*

**TW - mentions of sex**

Anakin's POV:

*Flashback/Nightmare begins... *

I knew he would follow as soon as I brought her into the alley. As I scanned the perimeter, I found him quickly despite the fact he had tried to conceal his Force signature.

I had to be harsh. He was watching. I had to protect Y/N from expulsion from the order. I forced myself to do what my heart was screaming at me not to.

"Keep your voice down. We don't know who is listening." I told her, pretending I hadn't realized that Mace was watching.

"Is that what you're so concerned about?" She asked in a whisper. "That people will find out about us? Is that why you've barely looked at me all night?"

Deny deny deny. I told myself. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Bullshit." She called my bluff, seeing right through my tepid lies. I had to make it more believable. "What's wrong? Did I do something? Did something happen? Because the last I time I saw you, we were so unbelievably incandescently happy, and now..." her voice trailed off.

You didn't do anything wrong. You are everything to me, you are perfect. We were so happy. I wish I could tell you why I'm doing this. My heart yelled.

Tears started to well from her eyes and I momentarily forgot who was watching. "Y/N," I immediately softened at the sight, coming to her side. It was my natural instinct. "Please don't cry. I can't bare it."

"It's hard when I can tell something is distressing you." She sniffled.

Be tough. You have to be tough. I told myself. "I don't think we should be together. We'll never have time for each other."

Through heartbroken eyes and a wobbly chin, she whispered. "I thought our love could stand to the testament of time."

It does. I will never stop loving you. My true thoughts threatened to come out.

It was as if I was watching her heart sink deeper into her chest with every second that passed. "Why are you acting this way? What did I—
did I do something wrong?" She asked with devastation, tears falling down her delicate facial features.

I forced myself to keep going. "Do we really have to do this?"

"Do what?"

"Dispute the indisputable." I cleared my throat, preparing for more awful lies. "You and I both know we would have never worked out. We argued too much. And we would have ruined our careers in the process. It was best we cut it off before it get serious."

"Before it got serious?" Her jaw dropped. "Anakin, what about all the things you said? I—I gave you my virginity. What we did— it meant something between us."
