*A/N - fasten your seat belts for an emotional rollercoaster.*

3rd-Person POV:

Y/N woke up in her bedroom alone. No Anakin in sight. The only remnant left of him was his Jedi robe still wrapped around her body to blanket her in warmth. He wanted to dress her in her pyjama's for the night and sleep cuddled up next to her but he didn't feel it was right. Not when they hadn't talked about the status of their relationship after last night.

Anakin had decided that he was going to tell her the truth. He needed to. He couldn't stand to not be with her any longer. It was already killing him before Damian. But then he could rationalize it because not being with her was to protect her from Mace getting her in trouble for having an attachment. But then now that bastard Damian was trying to be with her, to ruin all he had done to try to protect her, and he couldn't have that. And between him and Damian, if Y/N was going to be with anyone, it was going to be him. Damian couldn't protect her like he could.

But it wasn't just someone else wanted her. No. Anakin and Y/N belonged together. This whole mishap with Damian was simply just the Force meddling, telling him he was meant to be with Y/N, giving him a push. And Mace was a test. To see if Anakin could really protect her and keep her safe despite the danger's of their relationship.

Anakin had made his decision. They would be together and they would keep their relationship a secret. They would just have to be careful. He knew he could do it. At least that's what he told himself...

Last night, he had confessed to her that they belonged together. That he was hers. But he knew today, now no longer in the throes of passion, that he needed to explain himself. And he would do just that. But it needed to be special. And away from any potential prying eyes of the Jedi.

So he woke up early in the morning, scouring Coruscant for a place to confess his feelings for her properly. Ideally, Anakin would've taken her to Naboo— the place they first fell in love— but to travel through hyperspace from Coruscant to Naboo even with a premium hyperdrive engine was at least two days and Anakin wholly doubted that he could simply tell Y/N to travel with him for that long without her demanding an explanation. So he settled on an on-planet location.

He decided on booking a room at the fanciest hotel in Coruscant in the balcony suite. The war had given him lots of sponsors. Members of the republic had been extremely grateful for his service as a war hero— the prophecy of the Chosen One adding to this reputation helped as well. They insisted on giving him credits, some people even arguing with the Council when Anakin tried to tell them that personal donations weren't allowed. He had more credits than he could have ever imagined as a little slave boy all those moons ago on Tatooine with his mother. He could leave the Jedi and the war right now and never have to want for anything again with all he had saved. Expenses would never be something Y/N or him had to worry about again.

He had it all planned out. He'd hired private chefs to cook Y/N's favourite meal to bring on to the balcony. He'd spread rose petals around the ground and have bouquets of her favourite flowers throughout the room. He'd play her favourite music on a vinyl— he would have hired live musicians but he couldn't risk anyone seeing a Jedi confessing his love to another Jedi—
Plus he wanted the privacy.

He knew Y/N would sleep in after a night out. She enjoyed her sleep and she didn't have anything planned for the day. He'd checked her schedule. So he turned off her alarm and left a note at her bedside table for when she woke up, instructing her to go the hotel at a certain time to meet him. He left out a dress for her— that he called to have Padme help pick out, knowing Y/N loved her sense of fashion. He didn't tell Padme the truth of why he needed the dress for Y/N, instead telling her it was for an undercover mission. But he assumed after Y/N and him were finally together, they'd tell her the true nature of their relationship. He knew they could trust Padme. She was like family to them, just like Obi-Wan. She would understand.
