Bora Bora. The very name exuded enchantment. With its turquoise waters, overwater bungalows, and lush tropical beauty. It was a destination that felt more like a dream than reality.
As you stood on the powdery white sands, the gentle waves lapping at your feet, you couldn't help but feel awestruck by the beauty of this place.
This trip was a gift, an escape before the whirlwind of beginning the highly anticipated second tour. Your group of friends-- Chris, Matt, Nick, Madi, and Nate-- was like a second family to you. You'd share the rollercoaster ride of fame, forming bonds that ran deep.
But one person among your friends has always occupied a special place in your heart-- Matthew Sturniolo.
Matt had been your best friend since the very start. You'd laughed together, cried together, and shared secrets that only the closest of friends could. Yet, somewhere along the way, feelings that ran deeper than friendship had grown between you two.
The first day on the island was pure magic. You and your friends had laughed until your stomachs hurt, snorkeled among vibrant coral reefs, shared stories at a bonfire, and danced the night away at a beachside club.
It was a time of relaxation and pure bliss.
But the real adventure began the next day when you and Matt decided to spend the morning exploring the island. You hiked up to a stunning viewpoint, capturing views of the breathtaking views of the island's landscape and the endless expanse of the Pacific Ocean.
It was a moment that took your breath away, and Matt's presence next to you made it all the more special.
The days followed were filled with more adventures and unforgettable experiences. You went jet-skiing, explored hidden lagoons, and danced the night away at a beachside club. It was as if time had slowed down, and you relished every moment of it.
As the second to last night of your vacation approached, the group decided to have a night out at a local club. Music thumped, laughter filled the air, and the energy was electric.
You found yourself dancing with your friends, and every now and then, a guy would try to strike up a conversation with you. But none of them could hold a candle to Matt, who watched you with an unreadable expression.
As the night wore on, Matt's jealousy became more apparent. You could feel his eyes on you, and it made your heart race. It wasn't like him to be controlling, but something about this situation was pushing him to the limits.
Eventually, Matt couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed your arm and pulled you away from the dance floor, leading you to a quieter corner of the club.
"What's going on, Matt?" you asked, your voice laced with concern.
His jaw clenched, and he looked into your eyes with intensity. "I can't stand seeing all those guys hitting on you, y/n. It's driving me crazy."
You raised an eyebrow, feeling a mix of surprise and frustration. "Matt, it's just harmless fun. You know I'm not interested in any of them."
He shook his head, his expression conflicted, "I know. But... it's hard for me to see you with someone else."
Your heart sank as you realized the source of Matt's jealousy. Your recent romantic comedy film with Dylan O'Brien has garnered much attention. Interviewers had probed about your chemistry with Dylan and dating rumors had swirled on the internet. Matt had been watching it from the sidelines, and it clearly had affected him more than he was letting on.
"Matt, you have nothing to worry about," you said softly, placing a hard on his arm. "The rumors were just that-- rumors. And besides, you're my best friend."
He looked down at you, his eyes searching yours, "I know, y/n. It's just... I've realized something. I don't want to just be your best friend anymore."
The words hung in the air and for a moment, the world seemed to stop. Matt's confession had taken you by surprise, leaving you at a loss for words.
Before you could respond, Matt excused himself, leaving you standing there, trying to make sense of what happened.
The next day, Matt was distant, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unease between you two. The tension was palpable, and it had cast a shadow over the two of you for the remaining days of your vacation.
You had never seen Matt like this, and you didn't know how to bridge the gap that grew between you two.
On the last night of your vacation, you couldn't take it any longer. You needed to talk to Maatt, to confront the feelings that had been left hanging in the air.
You found him in your hotel room, on the balcony, gazing out at the moonlit ocean. You walked up to him, your heart pounding in your chest.
"Matt," you began, your voice barely above a whisper, "We need to talk."
He turned to you, his expression guarded, "About what y/n?"
You took a deep breath, your eyes locked on the crashing waves on the shore below you. "About us, about what you said last night. I need to know what you meant."
Matt sighed, his shoulders slumping, "I'm sorry for dropping that on you like that. It was unfair."
You nodded feeling a mix of anxiety and anticipation, "Unfair or not, I need to know. Do you want to be more than friends?"
He looked at you, his blue eyes searching yours. "Yes, y/n, I do. I've felt this way for a while and I couldn't keep it to myself any longer."
A rush of emotion rushed over you, and you couldn't help but smile.
Matt reached out and took your hand in his, "Would you be my girlfriend y/n?"
You smiled and leaned into a kiss, "Yes, I would love to be your girlfriend."
