Is Anyone There?
"Is anyone there?" I asked the trees
As I walked a woodland track,
But I only heard the rustle of leaves
No answer came there back.
"Is anyone there?" I called to the land
As I wandered o'er green sward,
Touching each flower with a loving hand
Still no-one said a word.
"Is anyone there?" I cried to the sun
As it rose in the morning sky,
When the sun went down as the day was done
I still heard no reply.
"Is anyone there?" I asked the sea
Sweeping in on the rising tide,
Though billowing waves crept nearer to me
Alas, no-one replied.
"Is anyone there?" to the moon I cried
As I watch it wax and wane,
And once again no-one replied
Once more no answer came.
"I anyone there?" I called to the stars,
Each in its appointed place,
"Is there anyone there on Venus or Mars
No answer came from space.
I cried "Won't someone answer me?"
And suddenly I was aware,
There's always someone listening, you see
For God is everywhere.

PoesieThis is the first collection of poems that my great grandma wrote, I never knew her, she passed before I was born. There are two booklets of poems that she authored, the second of which is dated 1995, I believe the first was printed a couple of year...
