Only a Fairy
In woodlands deep 'neath lofty pines
Where bluebells nod in Spring,
Only a fairy can hear the chimes
Of the bluebells as they ring.
As rippling streams with waters clear
And sparkling fountains spray,
Only a fairy can really hear
The symphonies that they play.
Where busy bees work with such haste
All thro' the daylight hours,
Only a fairy can share the taste
Of the nectar from the flowers.
When harsh winds blow cold, white drapes
Are spread in Winter's storm,
Only a fairy can see the shapes
Of the patterns snowflakes form.
On Summer nights when stars shine bright
And silver moonlight gleams,
Only a fairy can dance so light
With the shimmering moonbeams.
There are no fairies, so say those
Who think they're only myths,
But only a fairy truly knows
Whether they exist.
