The Tale of the Moira Pig
When Moira folk held a parade
'Twas a memorable event
Because of a decision made
By a local resident.
While "in his cups" so folk recall
Though no-one knows just why
That merry gent put "pig on th' wall"
To watch the band go by.
When everybody laughed he thought
'This is a good idea'
It's such a joke I think we ought
To do it every year.
Then every year a puzzled swine
Was hoisted in position
So th' pig on th' wall became in time
An old Moira tradition.
