Our Hero
Our hero stepped into the bar
Proudly wearing his silver star
A villainous poker-player looked up in disdain
And called "Hey brother would you like a game?"
"Sure I'll play." Our good guy said,
"But play it straight or you'll be dead."
The bad guy snarled, "Okay you're in,
But beware, my friend, you cannot win."
The rest of the cowboys gathered close
For it seemed the villain could not lose,
When suddenly our hero cried "Hold it Jack,
You're dealing from the bottom of the pack.
And what's more, I do believe,
You've got four aces up your sleeve."
The bad guy yelled, "No, that's a lie,
Take that back or else you die."
He went for his gun to make a stand
But our hero kicked it from his hand,
Then they both struck out and a fight began,
Slugging it out man to man.
Then everybody wanted a bit of the action
And they joined in the fight with grim satisfaction,
And suddenly all hell broke loose
And blood flew around like tomato juice.
Dazed men crawled around on all fours,
And bodies hurtled through the swing-doors.
Then just as our hero tried a head-butt
A voice in the background shouted, "CUT!"
'Twas the director who yelled, "You can't act for toffee.
Let's see if its better when you've had some coffee.
This means we'll need another break."
But the villain mumbled, "I can't do any more,
'cos your ruddy hero's broken my jaw."
