Casual days and neighborly things

Nothing much happened on Wednesday. Just another slow, normal day for MePhone, at least. He was feeling much less numb today. He also didn't have anything on his routine to do today on a Wednesday anyways. That was fine though. One day without routine never threw him off much, and it always gave him time to catch up with any bits of it he might have missed, or put off doing on the bad weeks he had. Honestly, with how the week had gone, he was surprised he hadn't put anything off.

Whatever. It wasn't a big deal anyways. That surely meant he was doing better despite the odds, right?

Yeah. That's what he'd go with.

Anyways, the free day gave him a lot of time alone with his thoughts-- which usually is never good, but today, he was just thinking about how to try to talk to that OJ guy more. A whole lot of scheming in his head, and trying to think, but the problem with that, was he wasn't... Really the most social guy in the world. He would avoid any sort of conversation or interaction if possible, and now that he was actively seeking it, well, what the hell was he supposed to do??

MePhone just sighed. At least he had options. At least he was still hopeful, like he had been yesterday still.

Honestly, even though the idea of a new neighbor had sucked at first, it had been so long since anyone had lived in the house next year. He was probably only about nineteen when it became empty, and well-- a lot of time had passed. During that time, it only seemed like there were two people living in that big old house, an older looking guy-- though nowhere near as old looking as his own dad, and what he assumed was the old guy's daughter or something. She looked around the same age as he was, but he never really went outside much in those years, having too much going on mentally to trust himself, really. He assumed it was either divorce, or a passed mom or something, even if it was probably weird to assume something like that. It wasn't like anyone was gonna know what he was assuming anyways.

MePhone blinked back to focus, realizing his thoughts had gone very off track. No thinking about the past today. Thinking like that never led to anywhere fun. He had to keep his head in the present today, and figure out this neighbor interaction thing. Yeah. It wasn't part of the routine, but it was something he should probably go ahead and figure out.

...

OJ, however, had a busy day today. First, he woke up early, having to be quick about both making his, and the Cherries breakfast, and then he had to set up the computer in his room, because he had been putting it off for the past few days. He had to start working again today. He was a manager of a team at an accounting firm, and as much as he had other passions, and jobs he'd much rather be doing, he did like being in charge of the team he was assigned to. Honestly, he was excited to be able to join the video call with his colleagues again. And now that he has his computer set up again, he also planned on video calling later with a few of his friends from the apartments. He had been texting some of them regularly, but it would be nice to see a few of them again, even if not physically.

For now though, he had a job to get back to. Honestly, he was glad he was able to work from home with this. It was really convenient.

It was mid afternoon when everything wrapped up, meaning he had a few hours before he had to make dinner. Now that he was done with work though, he'd go check on the Cherries. He gave a polite knock on their closed bedroom door, letting them know he was asking to come in.

"Are you done with work?" Cher called out from the closed door, just before Ry opened it.

"Yep! All done."

"Yuck, you're still in your business outfit! No fancy business guys allowed in." Ry stuck his tongue out.

"Oh, darn. Guess I'll talk to you guys from out here." OJ just shrugged with a smile, not bothered at all.
