Spring.

It always feels like a new start. As if you get a second chance at life even if everything went downhill not even too long ago. At least to her.

The weather is kinder to her whenever she goes on her long walks. It even allows her to sit by the lake for a while before it gets too silent for her that she has to leave. Not that she hates the silence. It just makes her scared, makes her doubt and think: Why's it so quiet?

As she stands near the big windows that showcase the gorgeous view, radio playing in the background just for noise purposes only, in the distance two black SUV's approach the spacious frontyard of the mansion, slowing down to a stop when close enough to the huge and heavy wooden doors at the front.

Apparently parking the cars near the gate and walking from there is overrated. At least to them.

It makes her shake her head, roll her eyes, wish her father would do at least some physical work rather than sit in cars and at meetings. Surprising he doesn't get carried inside.

"Your father's here." is heard from the library's entrance, making her shoulders slightly jump since it was otherwise fairly quiet in here.

"Mhm, thank you."

A tame answer.

I can see that, I have eyes, was almost her initial response.

Something she hates. When people state the obvious, it irks her, makes her want to yell 'Great job, Sherlock!' everytime it happens. And to her, it happens a lot.

'Dinner is served.'

'Your car is here.'

'You haven't left your bedroom in months.'

Why waste your time saying such things? She often thinks but is also aware that at the moment, and for the past three months, everything annoys her. There's nothing she can do though, it's what follows when everything doesn't go accordingly. And she knows, she's not great company. Oh, how she knows that. The lack of friends and family visiting her says a lot. But she doesn't care. There are bigger things to worry about. Like global warming and the fact that she didn't have coffee this morning because the coffee machine is broken.
