Chapter 7: Razz

After Y/n head back to meet with the other yakshas, they noticed the bandages wrapped up on her shoulders that made most of the yakshas' showed confusion to each other as they whispered to each other that's trying to figure out what actually happened. However, Alatus approached her first out of curiosity.

"Those bandages... I've never seen you get hurt before."

Alatus was concerned for Y/n's wellbeing, but Y/n only averted her gaze at him.

"...I was protecting someone..." Y/n answered above a whisper.

"You were protecting someone, you say? Who was that then?"

As Alatus asked Y/n the question in a curious tone, the others began to circle around her while waiting to hear about her response to Alatus' questions.

"...The Hydro Archon."

Every single yaksha had a unique reaction to Y/n's response. Most of them were taken aback by this revelation as they couldn't believe it.

"The Hydro Archon..?" Alatus repeated in a surprised tone before asking the next question.

"Why were you protecting the Hydro Archon? I didn't recall such task that was given to you by Rex Lapis to keep an eye on her today."

Since Y/n promised Furina to keep her secret, she have no choice but to lie to her comrades.

"I accidentally found her during my patrol after the meeting. She was ambushed by a group of corrupted monsters— the ones who got influence by the gods' remain, and since the Hydro Archon is not much of a fighter, I had no choice but to fend them off by myself."

"The goddess was too focused watching me fight earlier that she didn't notice an incoming arrow heading her way, so I deliberately go to her way and take the hit instead."

Every single yaksha seemed to be taken aback by this response. It was understandable for them that Y/n was willing to take damage to protect the Hydro Archon.

"I see. So you acted out of impulse to protect the Hydro archon from harm. I'm surprised that you would take such drastic measures to shield her from danger. Although, you were able to save her life, which is more important." Menogias said.

"Yes, you did good, Y/n." Indarias added with her charming smile.

"What about your wound though? Was she the one who treated it?" Bonanus asked, out of curiousness.

"...Yes, she insisted..." Y/n answered honestly.

Bosacius then gave her a medicine called Remedium Tertiorum from which can temporarily alleviate the pain caused by the karma.

"Thanks..."

As Bosacius gives her the medicine and after she thanked him, his expression slightly lightens up, giving him a more soft smile. Menogias then approached Y/n and spoke to her with a slightly playful tone.

"Perhaps she's not as proud as we think she is. If she actually cared about you enough to heal your wound. That's a very bold move for the goddess, wouldn't you agree?"

Y/n only stayed silent in response, however, Indarias continued the teasing.

"I agree with this one. Perhaps Y/n caught the attention of the Hydro Archon?~"

They then laugh while Y/n and Alatus' expression remains unchanged.

"...."

Bosacius could tell that the topic of the Hydro Archon had become a sensitive topic for Y/n when she responded with only silence after hearing their teasing remarks. As they waited to hear a response from her, Menogias then decided to speak up again.
