Five hundred years later, a group of explorers and adventurers discovered the place where Y/n had laid unconscious. But as they tried to carry her away, they found her body surrounded by a dark aura which kept them from making any advancements any further.

The dark aura was so thick and overwhelming that it kept them from doing anything to her, almost as if it was protecting Y/n from them. It was the first time that they had ever seen such a thing and it was very alarming to them, making them very concerned for her well-being.

They report it to the Adventurers' Guild until Morax— or goes by the name Zhongli now heard the news of a person they'd found in the Chasm and task Alatus to find and investigate the situation.

"Xiao, if the person they'd find is whether Bosacius, or Yingxue— bring them here immediately." Morax commanded.

Alatus nodded and quickly flew to the Chasm to investigate the situation. Upon arriving, he saw the very dark aura enveloping the figure that was found lying unconscious. It was thick and overwhelming. But despite the difficulties of getting near the person, Xiao still tried to approach it.

As Xiao gets closer and closer to the figure, it was no mistaken for him that the clothes the person was wearing belongs to Y/n.

"...Strange, I haven't found her body here when I investigated this area in the past. Well, it doesn't matter."

When he was about to get close to her, some unknown forces suddenly attacks him so he quickly fend them off.

Though he was now able to free Y/n from the dark aura that was surrounding her body, the energy coming from it was still very strong and he could feel a sense of danger coming from it. Xiao was somewhat puzzled by the situation as he tried to examine Y/n's figure.

"Weak pulse..." Xiao whispered.

He carried Y/n back to where Morax was waiting and wait for Y/n to regain her consciousness.

Morax stood there as he watches Y/n with anxiousness, hoping and waiting for his yaksha to regain her consciousness. It was a bit unclear how much time he had waited for her revival, but one thing was certain was that he was keeping a close eye on Y/n.

After being unconscious for quite a significant amount of time, the time frame not clearly known, I slowly regained my consciousness. I could hear someone's voice and feel some warm presence being nearby. I sat up straight from the bed and took off my mask.

My memories... Why couldn't I remember..?

I tried to recall some parts of my past. I was a yaksha and there was some sort of contract that I had made with the Geo Archon, Rex Lapis. Though the memory of it was rather vague, my instincts instinctively summoned my polearm when I saw both figures standing in front of me.

The gloomy one was about to summon his polearm as well to protect the person standing beside him, but the taller man stopped him.

I felt an oddly familiar sense of being with the tall man's presence, making me wonder if it was Morax. Yet my memories were scattered so my suspicions couldn't be confirmed, hence I decided to simply ask him a question.

"Your presence... Are you the Lord of Geo..?"

The taller man gave a small nod of his head as he finally agreed to confirm my suspicion that he was, indeed, the Lord of Geo. So now at least, I finally knew one of the figures in front of me which is Morax.

I then gaze towards the person beside him.

"Who is the person beside you?"

After raising my question, they were both surprised to hear my question as the younger man spoke.

"You don't remember..?" He asked, a bit taken aback.

"...No." I answered him bluntly.

His surprise by me, not remembering who he was was pretty clear on his face as he looked back at Morax, as if asking him for some sort of guidance. Morax only let out a sigh and stepped forward.

In a kind but still strict tone of voice, Morax tried to answer my question.

"The person who is standing beside me is Xiao, also known as Alatus, a yaksha like you."

I only stayed silent before lowering my polearm.

"Yaksha... Yes, I quite remembered myself being one of your yakshas, however, I don't recall this person's name... Only the memory of you, Rex Lapis being the Archon that I serve and my origin is intact in my mind. As for the rest... I couldn't remember..."

Morax listened to my reply, his eyebrows slightly narrowing in thought at first but his expression soon soften when he realized that I did try to remember as much as I can about myself.

He seemed to accept my answer while he nodded his head and then turned to look at Xiao, seemingly wanting to share with me our history as well.

Xiao only sighed before crossing his arms.

"Like Rex Lapis has said— I'm General Alatus, or you could call me Xiao this days... Or to which do you prefer. 'General Yingxue', is what the people and adepti calls you from the past–"

"Other yakshas? You mean there's more than just the two of us? If so, there where are the others?" I interrupted, asking him about the well being of the other yakshas.

Xiao seemed slightly taken aback by my abrupt question but he answered it without hesitation.

"...The others are long gone. There were seven of us to be exact, but we are the only two remaining. Pervases was the first one to die during the Archon War. Indarias, Menogias, and Bonanus perished after, while Bosacius... we didn't know what happened to him five hundred years ago until today."

Even after Xiao mentioned each of my comrades' name, I didn't know any of them, but at the sudden mention of Bosacius' name, my eyes suddenly darted on him.

"Bosacius..? That... name sounds familiar to me even I couldn't recall what does he exactly look like." I said.

Xiao took notice of the sudden change of my expression. It was clear that Bosacius' name has some significance to me, even if I didn't remember much about him anymore. Xiao was also quite intrigued by my response to the name and tried to probe further.

"You seemed to recognize the name of one of our fellow yakshas. Do you have a memory of him at all?"

"...No." I answered.

Xiao and Morax both gave each other a small and curious look before Morax gaze back at me.

"Interesting... Yet if his name felt familiar to you, that means your memory wasn't entirely lost. Now, Yingxue, let me ask you... Do you have the slightest idea why his name sounds so familiar to you?"

"...."

I think long and hard until my gaze set on the yaksha mask lying beside me.

Xiao and Morax's eyes followed exactly to where mine were focused, and they saw the mask on the bed that I was looking at for quite a while.

The yaksha mask was a symbol of honor and pride for us all, one which signified that I was also a yaksha and a guardian of the Geo Archon.

However, that's not the reason why I looked at it in the first place, for a feeling of familiarity took over me for some unknown reason when I looked at the mask as if a bit of his presence was attach to it.

When I reach and grabbed for my mask, vivid memories suddenly flooded my mind and overwhelmed my thoughts, like a wave taking over the sea. I was taken back to the darkest period of my life and I couldn't help but feel a wave of pain inside of me as it led me to recall the events of a tragic night and my downfall as a yaksha.
