Chapter 22: Water's Elegance

[Furina's PoV]

The next day, I couldn't help but to search for Lumine and Paimon in order to ask them about Y/n's whereabouts.

I was worried about Y/n, despite our encounter from the previous night having a peaceful resolution, I still felt something was wrong. With that thought in mind, I quickly searched for the Traveler in order to get more information on where Y/n had gone. Upon finding the two, I quickly approached them and asked my question.

"Hey you two~! Is... Y/n with you?"

"Hmm?" Lumine looked over at me, her face had a small smile on it. Perhaps she was happy to see me approaching them.

"Y/n? Well, she left saying that she needs to go out and swim near Elynas. Why?" Lumine questioned.

"Why? To catch up with an old friend, of course!" I replied.

Now, I just hope that Lumine could see that this was an important meeting that I needed in order to properly catch up with Y/n.

"I see..." Lumine replied as she turned to Paimon who was sitting next to her.

"She headed that way." Paimon points out.

Paimon's comment about the direction was very helpful, as I then let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks you two~! Oh and please don't tell Y/n I asked about this." I replied as I waved good bye to both Lumine and Paimon before I set out to the place where Y/n was.

I was now determined to follow up on Y/n, as I didn't want to miss out on the chance to talk to her again to see if she would change her mind about this situation. I wanted to see a miracle happen where Y/n could remember me and our past together.

After walking for a while in the place where Y/n was, I began to grow worried when I still couldn't see her. I also began to think that perhaps some unfortunate situation happened to her. My heart began to race and my heart rate slowly increased. I couldn't help but wonder and fear whatever the worst case scenario could be.

Then, I heard a sudden splash of water in front of me which causes me to yelp but then saw that it was Y/n emerging from the waters. I let out a big sigh of relief and relaxed.

I immediately went up over to where Y/n was floating and my jaw dropped the moment I fully looked at her figure.

"Oh-hh..." My voice was a bit shaky when I noticed how Y/n look beautiful when she's... wet.

I also noticed how stunning Y/n looked when she came out of the waters. Her body and her hair was drenched but the water made her look more beautiful and graceful. My cheeks slightly became pink again, although this was something that I expected to feel when I'd seen Y/n's beauty.

"You're beautiful when you're wet..."

"...Excuse me..?"

..?!

I suddenly felt a wave of embarrassment when Y/n replied back. Did she actually just heard what I said about her looking beautiful while she's wet? What was she thinking when I said that out loud?

My cheeks instantly became super-red as I tried to think about what I could possibly say to reply to this moment.

The two of us were now just staring at one another for a few moments before I came up with an excuse to try and salvage this awkward moment.

"I just meant... umh... that the water makes you look... more graceful." My reply was the best I could come up with on such a short notice.

"...Uhh, thank you..?"
