Two Weeks Later: 12:36 PM: April 23, 2023: On Hoenn

“Good lunch?” Charlie asked.

“Yeah! I sure am happy I won that fight against the rich kid!” Gardevoir responded.

“He gave us 10,000 Pokedollars! I told him to only give us 1,000, but he didn’t listen.” Charlie said.

“You make a good chicken soup.” Gardevoir said.

“Thanks! I got the recipe from my mother.” Charlie said.

At that moment there was a knock at the door.

“My, that’s the second knock at the door in two weeks! We rarely get any!” Gardevoir said.

“I’ll answer it,” Charlie said

Charlie opened the door, with Gardevoir right behind him.

“Mew!” Gardevoir exclaimed

It was indeed Mew at the door.

“Sorry I haven’t been able to see you in over five years, it’s kind of hard to get over this way.” Mew apologized.

“No need for apologies, come on in!” Charlie said.

Charlie and the two Pokemon made their way to the living room.

Charlie and Gardevoir sat down, while Mew just stayed floating in the air.

“How has everything been since I last saw you?” Mew asked.

“Well, about a month ago, Dan and Parsons, those two bullies we met on the path, tried to break into the house, but we were in the house,” Charlie explained.

“So we met them at the front of the house, and I grew to nine feet and said some stuff, and Parsons ran off, but Dan held his ground stubbornly. So I grew to twelve, then fifteen feet tall, and lifted him using telekinesis and gave him a very stern talking to. I let him go, then he ran off.” Gardevoir said.

Gardevoir continued, “That night, I got paranoid and I grew to thirty feet and slept outside. The next day, Parsons came, trying to do something, and masked it with a fake apology when he saw I was thirty feet tall. I grew a total of ten more feet, and picked him up, without bothering to use telekinesis. I might have gripped him a little hard, but I gave him a very stern talking-to. He ran off when I let him down. Dan and Parsons have not bothered us since.” Gardevoir explained.

“Well, that’s good. I’m happy you are not abusing your power. That makes me happy to hear!” Mew said.

“But that’s not all,” Charlie said.

“About two weeks ago, at about half past three in the morning, Gardevoir woke me up, but she wasn’t trying to. She was extremely stressed because she thought she was the reason for the money problems we were having.” Charlie explained.

“You’re not still having money problems now, I hope?” Mew asked.

“No, we’re not, thankfully.” Gardevoir answered.

Charlie continued the story.

“She was unconsciously and unintentionally growing. She grew to nine feet, and it stopped there when she bumped her head. The bump woke me up. Gardevoir told me her worries and began stressing again, she began growing again, this time stopping at fifteen feet. We got her outside, but I still couldn’t calm her down, and she grew again to the height of the house.”

“That’s thirty feet!” Mew exclaimed.

“Finally, I got her to calm down by having her take deep breaths and holding my hands. Well, I guess in reality I was only able to hold a couple of her fingers, but you get what I mean.” Charlie finished explaining.

Mew’s face fell.

“I was afraid of this,” Mew said sadly.

“What do you mean?” Gardevoir said with a slightly worried look.

“Well, sometimes, if you let your emotions get the best of you, and you let it happen fully, you may grow without your willingness to. You must not let your worry get to you.” Mew said.

“I have happier news to tell you,” Charlie said.

“Oh, what’s the news?” Mew said.

“A childhood friend recently moved back to Shilby Village, and he is on the same path as us. He talked and showed him Gardevoir’s powers.” Charlie said.

“Though he didn’t believe I could change size until I showed him.” Gardevoir said with a grin on her face.

“Well, even in the world we live in today, it will never be possible for a Pokemon to change size unless I give them the power.” Mew said.

“Why were you in Shilby Village on that day, five years ago?” asked Charlie.

“Well, I’ve been going to different small villages, hunting for somebody small, or inferior to bullies or bad people, and I want to help good people. Then, I found you. I was watching you since you moved out of your parent’s home, making sure you don’t run out of money, not get enough money, or stop getting hurt by people with bad intentions. However, because I had to be watching multiple kids in different places and islands, I could only watch you for an hour and a half each day. Otherwise, I would have stopped Dan and Parsons on day one.” Mew explained.

“Thank you so much again!” Charlie said

“You’re very welcome. The more I help good people, the less bad there is in the world. Not saying you’re bad.” Mew said.

“I get what you mean,” Charlie said

“What time is it?” Mew asked.

Charlie looked at his watch.

“It’s about 1:30,” answered Charlie.

“Well, it’s about time I get going. Hopefully, it will be less than five years before I see you again.” Mew said.

“Hopefully.” Gardevoir agreed.

Charlie and Gardevoir walked Mew to the door.

“Bye, Mew!” Gardevoir said.

“Hopefully, we’ll see you soon!” Charlie said.

“Goodbye! Remember, use your powers wisely!” Mew said as she flew off.

After Mew had flown off and they had gotten back inside, Gardevoir said,

“It was nice talking to Mew again. I hope she comes back soon.”

“Me, too Gardevoir. Maybe we can talk to her next month. I’ll see what I can do.” Charlie said.
