Three Days Later: May 11, 2023: On Hoenn Island
Gardevoir was sitting at home, watching Channel Eight. She was wondering where Charlie was. He said he was getting a surprise.
Just then the weather came on, and she saw it was going to rain in about an hour. She hoped Charlie would get home before then because he didn’t bring a jacket or an umbrella.
Then, the front door opened, and Charlie appeared in the living room.
“Did you bring the surprise? What is it?” Gardevoir asked excitedly, growing two feet, to seven feet tall in her excitement.
“Whoa, whoa! Calm down, Gardevoir! All in good time!” Charlie exclaimed though he was smiling.
“Well, what is it?” Gardevoir said, shrinking back to normal, but all the excitement was still there.
“I got a new cell phone! Now I can call whoever I have their number too!” said Charlie.
“Well, wanna watch this cool show I found on Channel Two? It comes on in about ten minutes,” asked Gardevoir.
“Sure!” Charlie answered.
“Alright!” Gadevoir said as she changed the channel to Channel Two.
After the half-hour program, Charlie decided to make his first call. He wanted to call Wyatt. He wanted to test it out while he still had a return window.
He dialed Wyatt’s number.
“Hello, who is this?” said the voice on the other end of the line.
“You better memorize this number, ‘cause I just got a new cell! Oh, and in case you haven’t figured it out yet, it’s Charlie,” answered Charlie
“Oh, hey man! Do you need me for something?” asked Wyatt
“No, not really. I was testing out my new phone, just to make sure that I didn’t need to return it. I only have a three-day window. But I guess it works!” came Charlie’s answer
“Well, that’s great, man! I just wrote your number down on the notepad on my fridge,” said Wyatt.
“Don’t tell Gardevoir, but I’m going to call my parents and invite them over. I haven’t seen them in over five years, since I moved out.” Charlie said in a voice that Wyatt could hear on the other end of the line, but Gardevoir couldn’t hear on the other side of the room.
“Alright, I’m going to hang up so you can do that. I’m happy you’ve decided to invite your parents over! Just give me a call whenever they get there because I would very much like to meet them again. I haven’t seen them in seven years!” Wyatt said.
“Will do, see you later,” Charlie said
“Alright, bye!” Wyatt said, then they hung up.
“Alright Gardevoir, I do apologize, but there is somebody I need to talk to right now. It’s very urgent.” Charlie said
“Hey, you’re fine! I’m just watching Channel Two.” Gardevoir answered.
“I’ll be taking this call upstairs, in our bedroom if you need anything,” Charlie said
“Alright.” Gardevoir said.
Charlie went upstairs and dialed his parent’s home phone number. It rang twice, then someone picked up.
“Hello, who is this? This had better not be a spammer. I don’t recognize the number.” said the voice on the other end. Charlie recognized the voice as his mother’s.
“Hey Mom, I got a new cell phone. I was hoping you and Dad could come to visit sometime.” Charlie said
“Oh, it’s so good to hear your voice again, Charlie! Yes, we’ll come! How does tomorrow sound?” said Charlie’s mother
“That will be great! I’ll talk to you tomorrow then!” Charlie said
“Alright, see you tomorrow!” Charlie’s mother said. Then they hung up.
Charlie went downstairs and told Gardevoir the news.
“Oh, that’s great Charlie! I can’t wait to meet them!” Gardevoir said.
