The Next Day: May 12, 2023: On Hoenn Island
Charlie and Gardevoir were in the kitchen cleaning up after they had just eaten.
“My, for us two, we sure do make a big mess!” Gardevoir said.
“That’s certainly true. Welp, that’s the last of it! Let’s go into the living room and wait for my parents to get here. They should be here any minute now.” Charlie said.
They went into the living room and Charlie wanted to watch the news, so they turned on Channel Eight. Right as the first news story was about to come on, they heard a knock on the door.
“That must have been your parents, Charlie! Do you want to get the door this time since it’s your parents?” Gardevoir said.
“Sure,” Charlie answered.
Charlie got up and answered the door. But instead of his parents at the door, it was Wyatt.
“Hey Charlie, are your parents here yet?” Wyatt asked
“No, not yet, they should be here any minute now. Come on in!” answered Charlie.
Wyatt and Charlie walked into the living room.
“Oh hey, Wyatt! I thought it was Charlie’s parents!” Gardevoir said.
“Oh, sorry to disappoint you,” Wyatt said with a grin on his face
“Wait a minute! I didn’t say that!” Gardevoir exclaimed
“I was just messing with you!” Wyatt said, still with the same grin on his face.
This caused Charlie to smile.
“Oh, well, umm.” Gardevoir said as she nervously chuckled.
“That was funny,” Wyatt said
“Wanna watch Channel Two with us while we wait on my parents?” Charlie asked.
“Sure! I hope they come soon. Like I said on the phone, I haven’t seen them since I moved away from Shilby Village.” Wyatt said
Charlie changed the channel to Channel Two because what was on there was better than the news.
They watched the television and talked about random things until they heard a knock on the door about twenty-five minutes later.
“If that’s not my parents, I don’t know who it could be!” Charlie said.
“It could be Mew,” Wyatt said
Charlie went and answered the door
“Speak of the devil!” Charlie said
“Wait, really?” asked Wyatt from the other room.
“Nah, I’m joking, it's my parents! Hey, Mom! Hi, Dad! Come in!” Charlie said.
The three of them walked into the living room, and introduced Wyatt and Gardevoir, though they remember Wyatt from Charlie’s childhood.
Charlie and Gardevoir took turns explaining about the bullies five years ago, how they met Mew and how Gardevoir got her size change power. They talked about the repercussions of her powers, about the worry and dreams. They talked about the little boy and his grandmother. They even talked about Peter, the homeless man who attempted to steal their house. They talked about Mew’s visits and Wyatt’s visits. They talked about everything that happened since Charlie moved out.
“Well, I’m happy to see that you still have the same imaginative brain that you had as a child. Your Gardevoir has an imaginative brain too! Y’all are good for each other.” Charlie’s father said.
“No, it’s all true! Everybody come outside.” Gardevoir said
“They ain’t lying, you know,” Wyatt said while they were all making their way to the front door.
When outside Gardevoir explained she was going to grow to the height of the thirty-foot house, then shrink back to normal.
Gardevoir then began to grow to thirty feet, just like she said.
“Believe them now?” Wyatt asked Charlie’s parents
“Yeah, I do believe we do!” Charlie’s mother said with an agape look on her face.
Gardevoir shrank back to normal and they all went back inside and talked for about an hour and a half.
“Well, we’ve gotta get going. It was nice to talk with you all. See y’all soon!” Charlie’s father said.
Then Charlie’s parents left.
“Well, it’s about time I get going too. Good talk we had! See you guys later!” Wyatt said as he too walked out the door.
“That was nice. Let’s do it again sometime!” Gardevoir said.
“We will then!” Charlie said.
