Three Days Later: May 8, 2023: On Hoenn Island
Charlie and Gardevoir were playing chess, (and don’t worry, no anger happens, this isn’t a dream.), in the living room.
“Checkmate! Good game!” Charlie said
“Good game! If I didn’t lose my rook, I would have won!” Gardevoir said with a grin on her face.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
“My goodness! We sure have been popular here lately!” Charlie said.
“I’ll get the door!” Gardevoir said.
Gardevoir went and answered the door.
“You again!” Gardevoir said.
At the door was the same random guy that she found in her’s and Charlie’s bedroom about a week ago.
Gardevoir pushed him out and then stepped out behind him. She then grew to thirty feet tall, the height of the house, and used telekinesis to raise him into the air.
“Allow me to introduce myself. I am Peter, I am the true owner of this house. Look at this deed.” Peter said as he showed Gardevoir an official-looking title deed.
“Well Charlie has a deed, that means yours is fake!” Gardevoir said.
“Charlie, could you come out here?!?” Gardevoir yelled.
Charlie walked outside.
“This is Peter, he is the guy I found in our bedroom the day we got the television. He claims to have a deed to this house and he claims he owns it.” Gardevoir explained.
“Well, I have a deed. And I have a solution too. We bring both of our deeds to the city office, and they’ll tell us which is fake.” Charlie explained.
“Alright, let’s go. No funny business, Peter. I’m going to return to normal size so we don’t attract attention as we walk through town. But if you try to run, I’ll be getting a lot of attention as I grow to fifty feet tall, and then I will catch you.” Gardevoir warned as she released her telekinesis hold on Peter and shrank back to her normal five-foot self.
“Okay, I won’t run,” Peter said.
The three walked through town until they got to the Shilby Village City Hall.
“Excuse me, could you tell me which of these two deeds is the real thing?” Charlie asked the receptionist
“I’ll take these to the back room and let our expert examine them. This will take about thirty minutes of close examination.” the receptionist said as she took both deeds and walked to the back room.
The three helped themselves to a complimentary cup of coffee as they waited.
“You’ll see.” Peter said.
“I suggest you keep quiet,” Gardevoir said, gritting her teeth and with an angry look on her face.
Ten minutes, then twenty, then finally thirty minutes passed when the receptionist called them to the desk.
“Here is your deeds back, gentlemen. Though Peter, I would rip yours up, yours is forged.” the receptionist said
“Let’s go back home.” Gardevoir said with gritted teeth.
So they all walked back to Charlie’s house. When they were there, Gardevoir grew to the size of the house again, and this time, picked Peter up with her bare hands.
“Why did you do that?” Gardevoir said, still with gritted teeth.
“I’m homeless, and I need somewhere to sleep,” Peter explained.
“I’ve noticed you are pretty brave in the face of danger,” Charlie said
“I’m used to danger,” Peter said.
“You do realize there is a village homeless shelter, right?” Charlie asked.
“No, I didn’t,” Peter said
“Well, Gardevoir is disappointed in you for trying to steal Charlie’s house.” Gardevoir said.
“Here is the address to the shelter,” Charlie said
Then he told Peter the address.
“Could you let me down though, please? You are gripping me a little hard.” Peter asked.
“Alright, go to the homeless shelter, there is free food and free shelter there, don’t try to steal people’s houses again,” Gardevoir said as he set him down.
Peter walked away down the path, presumably to the shelter.
“Well, thankfully the expert spotted the forgery!” Gardevoir said as she shrank back to her normal size.
“Yeah, let’s go inside,” Charlie said.
“We haven’t watched the game show channel yet, have we? Let’s see if it’s any good.” Gardevoir said.
“Okay,” Charlie said
Then the two of them walked back inside
