One Day Later: May 21, 2023: On Hoenn Island
Charlie and Gardevoir were doing something they hadn’t done since Charlie was eleven. They were playing hide and seek.
Charlie was hunting for Gardevoir when all of a sudden, Mew appeared!
“Oh, hello Mew! How are you doing?” asked Charlie
“Oh, not too bad. How about yourself?” responded Mew
“Well, if I could find Gardevoir, things would be a little better,” Charlie said
“I’ve heard she’s good at hide and seek,” Mew said
“How did you know that we were playing hide and seek?” Charlie asked without stopping and thinking that this was Mew he was talking to.
“I have my ways. I also know that you’ve recently bought a cell phone. Why haven’t you called me?” Mew said
“Well, I didn’t know you had a phone! What’s your phone number?” Charlie asked
“I’m just messing with you, I don’t have a phone. I don’t need one.” Mew said as a grin creeped acrossher face.
“Well, I’m going to hunt down Gardevoir so we can all talk,” Charlie said
“If you want to know where she is, she is in a box in the attic,” Mew said.
“Thanks!” Charlie said as he went inside the house.
Charlie raced upstairs and pulled down the ladder to get into the attic.
“Hey, Gardevoir? Mew’s here! She wants to talk with us!” Charlie said
Gardevoir popped out of one of the larger boxes.
“Really?” Gardevoir asked excitedly. In her excitement, she grew to nine feet tall
“Ow.” Gardevoir said as she hit her head on the ceiling.
Gardevoir shrank back to normal and they both walked back downstairs after climbing out of the attic. They walked into the living room where Mew was patiently waiting.
“Hello, Gardevoir.” Mew said.
“Hi, Mew!” Gardevoir said.
“I heard a bump up there, are y’all okay?” Mew asked.
“Yeah, we’re fine!” Charlie said.
“Well, care to tell me what y’all have done since I last visited?” Mew said.
“Well, for starters, some homeless guy tried to steal Charlie’s house, but he failed.” Gardevoir said.
“Oh my! Thank goodness he failed. The levels people stoop to nowadays.” Mew said, shaking her head in dissapointment.
“Well, other than a couple of visits from Wyatt, I called my parents and saw them for the first time in five years,” explained Charlie
“That’s great!” Mew said.
“Hew, did I ever tell you Mewtwo’s origin story?” Mew asked
And so the three talked for a full three hours before Mew left.
“Goodbye,” Mew said
“Bye, Mew” Charlie and Gardevoir said in unison.
