Dahlias pov:

i wake up and i'm being held.
it's a nice comforting feeling.

nikis hugging me and my head snuggled into her chest, and her head is laying on top of mine.

i smile and snuggle my head closer.

"are you awake?" a groggy voice spoke up, niki.

i nod silently.

"want to stay like this?"

i nod again.

she hums and lays her head back down.

"hey dahlia, do you wanna go on a walk?"

"sure!" i agree.
we had been inside all day and it's going to be dark out soon.

i grab my phone and airpods and we walk out the door.

"there's a sidewalk i use as a trail and we can use that. the scenery it's trees but its nice."

"ok!"

we walk and talk about stuff.

after an hour we turn back and head home.

i'm gonna confess.

i'm gonna do it.

i hope.

"so how do you like austin so far?"

"it's nice. it's a very busy city, but it's good."

"can i ask a question?"

"sure!"

"do you-"

i get cut off by my phone ringing.

GODDAMMIT-

"hello?" i answer.

"hey this is rachel, ya know, from work."

"what's up?"

"you need to come into work tomorrow."

"what why?"

"cause no one other than me and mars are going to show up. and the other employee that was filling in for you isn't coming. so it's you. it's just till 4."

"fine, i'll go." i sigh

"good."

and she hangs up.

i sigh and rub my face.
i quickly set them down as to not ruin the mood.

"hey what's wrong?" she takes my hand.

"i have to work tomorrow. no one was going to show up. so i have to."

"it's ok. i have to edit a few videos so i can come in if you want?"

"i'm not going to ask you to do that."

"it's ok. i wanna."

we get home and we lay in my room and i strum a little bit of my guitar.

"niki."

"yes dahlia?"

"want to come with me to grab an energy drink for tomorrow?"

"yeah! can we listen to music?"

"sure!"

we run out the door.

i hand her the aux cord and she plays wallows.

i get two pink monster for niki and i.

i come back and she's playing girl in red.
