i hang up and sigh.

i walk out and put on my apron.

"hello hoe!" mars said as they opened the door, energetic as usual.

"hey mars." i say as i rub my eyes.

"alright, how many hours of sleep did you get?" they laugh.

"none." i laugh.

"it's all good." they pull out an energy drink. "here child."

"thanks." i thank them as i take the energy drink out of their hands. it's a strawberry dream flavor, nikis favorite... my heart flutters.

"no problem. but why were you up so late?"

"just talking to a friend." i smile unconsciously.

"ooooo i have a feeling it's more than 'just a friend'. who was it???? was it a boy?? or a girl?? or a person?? or-" i cut them off.

"it was a girl."

"OOOO-"

"SHHH- anyways i met her online. she raided me on twitch."

"awww this is literally a love story." they exclaim as they walk to the door and unlock it to show we're open.

"not like she'd like me." i turn on the lights. "she's so pretty and sweet and she has a cat aswell!!"

"oh... NIKI?? NIHACHU?? that girl you played minecraft with??"

"yep."

"OMG SHE TOTALLY LIKES YOU!" mars exclaimed again. "i watched your stream. she's head over heels!! the wither rose doesn't lie lia!" lia was an old nickname they gave me when i first started working.

"but we're so far away from eachother. i don't think a long distance relationship will work. i mean a lot of people break up. what if she hates me? what if i'm delusional? what if it's all fake and she's leading me on? what if-"

"GIRL CHILL. she likes you, i've seen the way you look at her. i've never seen the way you look at her cause your faceless but i can imagine by the look on your face right now."

i realized i had been smiling. "i really hope she does like me." i rest my head on the counter.

"oh shit one sec. there someone at the drive thru- hello welcome to starbucks, how may i take your order?" Mars turns on their headset to take a customer.

i hope she likes me back.

nikis pov:

i get ready for my stream and i take a sip of my monster.
ooo this is good. i take a look at the flavor, pipeline punch. oh this is dahlias favorite flavor.

my mouth forms a smile
she's so pretty.
do i like her?
i mean of course i do, she's funny, sweet.
how do i know she's pretty? i mean i've never seen her face but i know she must be so pretty.

i start my stream and the starting soon screen soon plays.

i get a text from dahlia, i quickly open it.

my heart skips.

i don't have much time to ponder the heart cause the stream started. i send one back and turn to my camera.

"hello chat! today is a chill stream and we're doing a QandA!!" i smile.

why can't i stop thinking about the heart.

Dahlias pov:

i finish my shift at 4 and i drive home.

"ew why do you look like that?" schlatt asks as i walk through the door.

"this is what 0 hours of sleep looks like, schlugg."

"for the 100th time ITS SCHLATT. ITS NOT HARD!!"

"whatever you say schlarpet."

"OH MY GOD." schlatt yells.

i make a instant noodle and walk up to my room.

"i'm going to stream so be quiet!" i yell.

"I DO WHAT I WANT BITCH !!"

i sigh and open my phone, nikis streaming.

i tune in and see she's doing a QandA.

"yes i like dahlia, their pretty cool and nice to talk to. and, she german! like me!"

i smile and keep to playing while i set up my obs.

"your monster energy my lord." schlatt says sarcastically and hands me a monster. "are you watching nihachu?"

"uh yeah." i respond.

"ooo someone's got a little crush." he cooed. "shoot your shot bitch." he fake punches me.

"shut up and go away i'm about to start streaming."

"alright." he leaves but not before flipping me off. "fuck you."

"fuck you." i return the gesture and i sigh, opening my computer and setting up obs.

i press 'go live'.
