dahlias pov:

*timeskip to 4 days later*

"dahlia, please call me whenever you need someone." niki held my hand.

"i will." i smiled.

"do you want to stay longer? you can, i don't mind."

"i'm ok niki."

"are you sure?" she asked.

i sighed. "i'm sure."

she hugged me and i wrapped my arms around her.
we let go and kissed.

"i love you." i smiled.

"i love you too." she replied.

i walked to the security line and then got onto the plane.

"hi, someone took my seat is it ok if i sit here?" a voice asked.

i looked toward the voice, taking my airpods off.

"sure. i don't mind." i smiled.

the person sat down, they had faded teal hair with pink and yellow barrettes holing back their face framing bangs.

"so how are you doing this evening?"
they asked.

"doing well i came back from my girlfriends house."

"aw that's so cute. i'm actually going to my girlfriends house. i have a connecting flight in austin then i'm heading to memphis tennessee." they smiled.
"what are your pronouns? just so i don't misgender you."

"i go by any but i like they/them right now."
i explained.
"what about you?"

"im nonbinary so they/them."

"what's your name?" i asked.

"my name is nyx. what about you?"

"that name is so cool! my name's dahlia."

"that's such a pretty name!"
they beamed.
"sorry if i come off rude, i have autism." they said, sheepishly.

"that's ok! i have adhd so sorry if i accidentally interrupt you and ramble.

we talked almost the whole flight and kept laughing.
then we heard the dreaded. 'we're landing'

"so what are your hopes for your life?" they asked.

"maybe," i thought. "to stop self-harming." i said bluntly.

"why do you think you do that?"

"i dunno. i don't like it! i promise. but a small part of me thinks i deserve it."

"you don't." nyx comforted.

"i know i've been told." i admitted.

"you can stop. i believe in you, i know i'm just a stranger, but you have to just believe in yourself." nyx smiled.

"thanks." i smiled.

"no problem, and i know we're not going to see each other after this so," they put their seat belt on.
"anything you want to get off of your chest?"

"i'm sorry that i broke my promise to my friend to stop smoking."
i admitted.
"what about you?"

"i didn't mean to relapse." they replied.

after we got to go ahead to get out.

"are you comfortable with a hug?" they asked.

"sure." we hugged and just stayed there.

"you'll be ok." they rubbed my back softly.

"you too."

i grabbed my carryon and we walked out of the airplane together.

we grabbed our bags and i texted schlatt taht i'm here.
"bye nyx!" i waved from across the airport.

"bye dahlia!"

we walked our separate ways.

i walked outside with the front bottoms playing on my earbuds.

"dahlia!" schlatt waved.

"schlatt!!" i waved back and jumped into the front seat of his truck.

"want to go get some coffee?"
he was nice...
strangely nice...

"who died?" i asked.

"what do you mean?"

"your being a little too nice."

"can i not take my sugar baby out for some coffee?"

"ok jugar schladdy." i said excitedly, knowing i was going to get an iced coffee.

"EW WHAT THE FUCK NEVERMIND YOURE NOT GETTING COFFEE."

we got coffee.

also since schlatt did a name reveal (idk if it's real or nah cause people were speculating that it's fake) i changed jared's name to aiden so if you go back it's aiden now
