Two of hearts

___
Y/n sat in her room, a flame hovering above her palm. Her room was dark, the only light radiating from the small flame. It left an orange hue against Y/n's face and the light reflected off her eyes. She kept thinking back to the entrance exam, and how she felt like she failed because she lost control of her quirk. All she could think about when she looked at the flame was how much harder she needed to work, her training with endeavour was helpful, yes, but it didn't prepare her for real situations.
The ticking clock echoed throughout the silent room, each passing second a relentless reminder of the impending verdict. She grew the flame in her hand, she began passing the fingers of her free hand through the flame periodically. The envelope lay before her, an innocuous piece of paper that held the weight of her dreams.
She glanced out the window, watching as the moon cast long shadows across the room. The room felt stifling, the air thick with anticipation, and her heart pounded erratically in her chest.
Y/n huffed, pushing the flame out of her hand and left to hover in the air so she could see in the dark. With a trembling hand, she reached for the envelope, her fingers resting against the seal. The seal that held the answer to her aspirations, to her future.
Every passing moment stretched into an eternity and she found herself in a whirlwind of thoughts. What if she had failed? What if her dreams were shattered? But... what if it held the key to a new beginning, to the life she had dreamed of since she was a little girl?
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and steadied her trembling hand.
With a swift motion, she tore open the envelope. A disk-like object fell down onto her bed, making her jump slightly in surprise, the flame hovering above her shoulder mimicking her motions. She stared down at in confusion with a raised brow. "Huh?"
Suddenly, a huge amount of light shot out from the top, causing Y/n to stumble back on her bed.
"This is a projection!"
She looked up at the hologram, her eyes wide in shock. "All Might?" She mumbled to herself. Y/n grabbed the torn open envelope and checked the sender again, making sure this wasn't an elaborate joke.
"Now Young L/n! I'm in town for one reason only... I've come to teach at UA!"
Y/n frowned, looking a little confused.
'I didn't even realise he was in town..'
The projection of All Might put his hands on his hips, doing his iconic laugh.
"Congratulations! You passed the written portion of the entrance exam with flying colours and your performance in the practical exam has been evaluated, your results are in!"
Y/n squeezed her hands into fists, leaving small crescent moon shaped marks in her palms.
"Your heroic efforts and exceptional abilities have earned you a commendable total of 75 points! That's two points off the highest ranking applicant!" The digital All Might bellowed. He was just as loud on the hologram as he was on TV, making Y/n momentarily cover her ears.
