Two of hearts27
___
Y/n stood at the entryway of the alley, leaning heavily against Todoroki for support. Her weakened form could barely stand, and her trembling legs threatened to give way beneath her. Todoroki, his injured arm strained from the ordeal, provided what support he could, but carrying her was beyond his current capability.
Each shallow breath she took echoed the toll the battle had exacted on her. Despite her frailty, a tenacious spark within Y/n refused to be extinguished. She had pushed through the clutches of death, clinging to the tenuous threads that bound her to life. The alley's shadows seemed to embrace her weary figure as they both waited for the world to stop spinning and grant them a moment's respite.
"Even in a four on one fight, we just barely won because he screwed up." Todoroki panted, ignoring the stinging pain in his arm. "He probably got so mad that he forgot about the effect wearing off on Midoriya. And with Iida's final recipro, he couldn't react in time to Midoriya's movements."
Y/n clung to Todoroki, her body swaying with every movement. She fought to stay conscious, the world around her a hazy blur. Todoroki, sensing her struggle, glanced down at her with concern etched on his face. Gran Torino's arrival and subsequent lecture to Midoriya provided a momentary distraction, but Todoroki's attention remained on Y/n.
He gently asked, "Are you okay?" Concern laced his words as he observed her unusually pale complexion.
Y/n managed a weak nod, forcing a fragile smile. The effort to convey reassurance only emphasized the toll the battle had taken on her. Her gaze flickered towards the ground momentarily, a silent acknowledgment of the blood she had lost, before returning to Todoroki's worried eyes. "Yeah... I'll be fine."
"Is this the alley he mentioned?!" An unfamiliar voice called, catching the group's attention. A group of heroes emerged, each one commenting on the kids standing before them; Hero Killer tied up behind them.
"So he's... Endeavour's still over there fighting, huh?" Todoroki said to one of the female heroes.
"Yes! Those of us whose quirks had no effect on those villains came to help you guys." She stated, her eyes scanning the injured group.
Despite the ringing in Y/n's ears, her attention was pulled over to Iida, who threw himself into a deep bow. "The three of you..." He began, "You were wounded because of me. I am so terribly sorry..."
"I... was blind." Tears began to spill from his eyes, making Y/n frown at his state. "I lost sight of everything...!"
A small huff escaped Todoroki's lips as he adjusted his position, keeping a tighter hold on Y/n to prevent her from collapsing. "Get it together. You're class president, aren't you?"
Just before Iida could speak, another voice found its way into the mix, along with the sound feet scurrying across the ground.
"Y/N!" The voice bellowed, followed by a stretched arm wrapping around Y/n's waist.
Y/n found herself suspended in the air, her world suddenly flipped upside-down as Phoenix's elastic arm wrapped tightly around her. Pain shot through her body, and she couldn't suppress a grunt. However, Phoenix paid no mind to her discomfort.
