The bustling sounds of the coffee shop filled the air as Y/n stood in line, her attention divided between her phone and the tantalizing aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The barista called her name, and with an eager step, she approached the counter, ready to indulge in the comforting warmth of her favourite drink.

However, fate had other plans as an unexpected collision disrupted the serene moment. Coffee splashed, and her croissant took a tumble, a casualty of the encounter. Looking up, Y/n found Iida standing there, his eyes widened in genuine surprise.

"Oh! Y/n, I'm so sorry!" His immediate apology was filled with sincerity, and Y/n couldn't help but appreciate the earnestness in his tone.

"No worries, Iida. Accidents happen," Y/n reassured him, a light chuckle escaping her lips. Yet, Iida was already on a mission, determined to rectify the situation.

He shook his head, it was obvious in his expression he felt guilty. "Please, allow me to buy you another coffee."

"Iida, it's really no trouble. It's just some coffee and food."

"No, no! I insist! Let me buy you a new coffee and another croissant. It's the least I can do!" Iida declared, marching back to the counter with a sense of duty that amused Y/n.

"Well, if you're offering, who am I to refuse?" Y/n teased, standing next to him as he re-ordered her coffee and his own, adding a delectable cake to his selection. She shot him a playful grin, relishing the unexpected turn of events.

As they waited for their order, Y/n took a moment to subtly examine Iida's features. His distinctive glasses framed eyes that radiated a sense of intellect, and his neatly combed hair added an extra touch of refinement to his appearance. There was an earnestness in his expressions, a certain charm that she found endearing.

Y/n observed the way he stood, poised and dignified, even in the midst of a coffee shop mishap. The clean lines of his uniform only accentuated his well-groomed demeanour. She couldn't help but appreciate the meticulous attention he paid to every detail.

After a moment, Iida handed the coffee and the bagged croissant to Y/n. "I really am sorry, Y/n. I should've been watching where I was going. I didn't mean to spoil anything."

She shook her head, brushing the whole endeavour off. "Don't give yourself so much credit, takes a lot to spoil my morning."

With their freshly acquired coffee and treats in hand, Y/n gestured towards an inviting corner of the coffee shop. "Why don't you join me? I could use some company before heading to school," she suggested, a friendly smile on her face.

Iida looked momentarily surprised, as if the idea of spontaneous companionship caught him off guard. "Are you sure? I don't want to intrude."

Y/n snorted. "I'm inviting you to sit with me, you wouldn't be intruding on anything."

After a moment's consideration, a warm smile graced his features. "That sounds quite pleasant. Thank you, Y/n," he replied, falling into step with her as they made their way to an unoccupied table.

As they settled into their seats, Y/n couldn't help but notice the contrast between Iida's composed exterior and the genuine curiosity in his eyes. It intrigued her – the balance between his disciplined demeanour and the flickers of spontaneity that emerged in unexpected moments.

A smile made it's way onto Y/n's lips as they sat together, she sipped her coffee and grinned at Iida. "I didn't expect you to be the type of person to eat cake for breakfast." She teased, leaning on the table with her elbows.
