Two of hearts43
___
Y/n sat in her room, the silence oppressive around her. She found herself staring at the blank wall in front of her, but her mind was anything but empty. Memories of her father flooded her thoughts, a mix of joy and sorrow intertwining in her mind.
She remembered the moments of happiness they shared, the laughter and the warmth of his embrace. But those memories were overshadowed by the truth of his actions, by the pain he had caused to so many people. How could she reconcile the man she knew with the villain he had become? How could she be related to someone so infamous, someone so different from the hero she aspired to be?
The news of her father's true identity weighed heavily on her, a constant burden she couldn't shake. It affected her relationships with those around her, making her distant and withdrawn. She found it hard to connect with her friends and classmates, to share in their joys and sorrows when her own emotions were in turmoil.
Even her interactions with All Might, her mentor and father figure, had become strained. She couldn't bring herself to confide in him, to share the depths of her confusion and pain. How could she, when she didn't even understand her own feelings?
And looming over her like a dark cloud was the upcoming exam to acquire her provisional hero license. The pressure weighed heavily on her shoulders, the weight of expectations bearing down on her. With all these thoughts swirling in her mind, it was hard to focus, hard to find the clarity she needed to succeed.
She didn't know the full extent of the pain her father had caused, and part of her was too scared to find out. She was afraid of what she might discover, afraid of the darkness that lurked within her blood.
And so, she sat in her room, lost in a sea of uncertainty and doubt. She didn't know how to feel, what she should be feeling, because, honestly, she was feeling nothing at all.
Y/n's heart skipped a beat as a knock resounded through her room, jolting her out of her reverie. After a moment of silence, she called out, "Come in!"
The door creaked open, and Midoriya stepped inside, a small and awkward smile playing on his lips. He closed the door behind him and greeted her, his voice soft and tentative. Y/n returned his smile, feeling a sense of warmth at the sight of her friend.
"Hey," she said softly, patting the spot beside her on the bed. "Come sit down."
Midoriya nodded and took a seat, shifting slightly as he settled in. There was a moment of silence as they both searched for the right words, the weight of their unspoken thoughts hanging heavy in the air.
Finally, Midoriya spoke up, his voice hesitant. "I... I wanted to check on you," he admitted, his eyes filled with concern. "You've seemed... distant lately."
Y/n's heart skipped a beat as Midoriya's words hung in the air, his concern palpable in the furrow of his brows and the earnestness in his eyes. She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, her own eyes darting away as she struggled to find the right words.
"I... I'm fine, Izu," she insisted, her voice a little too forced, even to her own ears. "Really, I am."
Midoriya's expression softened, but there was a hint of scepticism in his gaze. "Are you sure?" he pressed gently, his voice laced with concern. "You just seem... different, lately."
Y/n's heart clenched at his words, a wave of guilt washing over her. She wanted to believe that everything was fine, that she hadn't been distant from her friends, but deep down, she knew it wasn't true. Still, the thought of admitting it out loud felt too overwhelming, too vulnerable.
