Two of hearts

___

Four days had passed since their initial training session, and the energy in Gym Gamma was palpable. Class 1-A had returned once more, each student diligently honing their quirks and perfecting their ultimate moves.

Y/n strolled into the gym a tad later than her peers, a small smirk playing on her lips as she observed the bustling activity around her. With a quiet confidence, she made her way further into the gym, her mind buzzing with excitement. While her classmates showcased their moves, she couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation coursing through her veins. Today was the day she would unveil her carefully crafted improvements, and she was eager to see the reactions they would elicit.

Y/n walked up to Toshinori, affectionately calling him by his first name. She greeted him with a warm smile, her eyes reflecting a mix of concern and fondness. Toshinori turned to her, his expression instantly brightening at the sight of her.

"Hey, kid!" he greeted warmly, reaching out to ruffle her hair with his non-broken arm. "How are you holding up?"

Y/n shrugged slightly, her smile faltering just a bit. "As well as I can, considering," she replied softly, her voice carrying a hint of resilience despite the weight of recent events.

Toshinori offered a weak smile in return, his gaze full of genuine concern. "I'm glad to hear that," he said softly. "How are your ultimate moves coming along?"

Once again, Y/n shrugged, though there was a spark of excitement in her eyes. "I've been studying some moves," she admitted, choosing not to mention their origin. "I'm excited to try them out today."

As they conversed, Toshinori couldn't help but notice the subtle changes in Y/n's demeanour, the weight of recent events apparent in her eyes despite her attempts to appear unaffected. He remembered the last time they had spoken, just before the battle with All For One, and he felt a pang of guilt for not being able to protect her from the dangers she faced as a hero in training.

"It feels like ages since we've had a chance to catch up, doesn't it?" Toshinori remarked, his tone laced with a hint of regret. "I've missed our talks, Y/n."

Y/n nodded in agreement, her expression softening as she met his gaze. "Yeah, it has been a while," she admitted, a hint of nostalgia tugging at her heartstrings. "I've missed them too, Toshinori."

There was a comfortable silence between them for a moment, each lost in their own thoughts before Toshinori spoke again, his voice tinged with concern. "How have you been coping with everything, Y/n?" he asked gently, his gaze searching hers for any sign of distress.

Y/n offered him a small, reassuring smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I've been managing," she replied quietly, her voice betraying the weight of her words. "It hasn't been easy, but I'm doing my best."

Toshinori nodded, understanding the sentiment all too well. "I know it's been tough for you," he said softly, his tone filled with empathy. "But remember, you're not alone in this. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you, Y/n."

Y/n's smile widened slightly at his words, a genuine sense of gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Toshinori," she murmured, her voice filled with sincerity. "That means a lot to me."

As they continued their conversation, Toshinori couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in how far Y/n had come since they first met. Despite the challenges she faced, she remained resilient and determined, embodying the spirit of a true hero in every sense of the word. As her mentor and friend, he vowed to support her every step of the way, no matter what challenges lay ahead.
